REVIEW: Thomas Schwartz & Fausto Fanizza - Rea EP out on Anjunadeep

Since their Anjunadeep debut in 2014 with ‘You Would / Mad Dog’, Thomas Schwartz & Fausto Fanizza have delivered a steady stream of consistent and quality club ready cuts including the notable ‘Kirk’, ‘Circles’ and most recently ‘Dawn To Dusk’, a definitive highlight from last years iTunes dance #1 album 'Anjunadeep 07’.

As well as becoming firm favourites with the Anjuna fanbase, the Italian duo's distinctive brand of uplifting and emotive house has won them support from industry tastemakers such as BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac. Returning with their most extensive release to date, Schwartz & Fanizza deliver 4 classy productions in the form of the ‘Rea EP’.

Opening the package the first of two collaborations with vocalist Susie Ledge, ‘Secret Place’ fuses surging low-end with cascading melodies and wistful lyrics. Next up in rolling balearic style is ‘Voices’ featuring trademark Schwartz & Fanizza chords. ‘I Can’t Be Found’ also features Susie Ledge’s delicate vocals, above an evocative xylophone riff and atmospheric bass grooves. Rounding off the Ep, title track ‘Rea’ is a prime example of their warm sound, packed with harmonic depth and soulful flair, blending chopped vocal samples and shuffling percussion.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Anjunadeep is responsible for bringing in the public domain great talents like the duo Thomas Schwartz & Fausto Fanizza. Their productions have been widely supported and their  musical and technical skills have been praised extensively. The latest  Rea EP includes 4 magnificent tracks that each one of them could be released on its own as single. Secret Place features the beloved singer Susie Ledge on vocal duties. The track is deep progressive house at its best with smooth deep basslines, rolling tribalish drums, dark haunting atmosphere and cinematic soundscapes. The vocal drive the track forward and awake your soul to get excited to search for that Secret Place. Great lyrics and electro pop infuses makes this track perfect for live performance as it sounds so organic and less digitally processed. Voices has long intro and then moves in the main section that is deep melodic balearic progressive house at its best with piano chords that progresses and adds that summery tone while is sprinkled with bells and xylophone like melodies. I Can't Be Found features the vocals once again by Susie Ledge. It is melodic progressive house with deep house and tropical house influences. The breakdown is the moment that the great vocal is revealed to touch you deeply and then moves to the crescendo moment with that dark industrial synthy along with xylophone melodies and balearic touches. Lastly Rea that gives the tittle on the whole EP is bubbly deep progressive house with dark industrial synths, wobbly percussion, variety of synthy hooks and cool distorted vocals with certain old school house flavour in them. The result is a magnificent mini EP of 4 top ultra infectious summer cuts. #PureGold #PureClass Love It [/content]
