REVIEW: Markus Schulz prs: Coldharbour Selections Part 42 out on Coldharbour

Coldharbour Recordings presents our final release of the year with the continued tradition of the Coldharbour Selections series - assembling three tried and tested tracks from Markus Schulz's Global DJ Broadcast and various dancefloors worldwide.

Inspired after hearing the original version of Mike EFEX's Blackstone for the first time, fellow Los Angeles native Dave Neven asked for the opportunity to provide a remix, and he proves that it was a worthy suggestion. He takes Blackstone's melody and turns it into a full on trancer.

German Ronski Speed generated an acclaimed piece for Coldharbour earlier in the year in the form of Cassia. He returns to the label again and this time is accompanied by Marc van Gale, for the plucky and addictive Loco In Acapulco. And we are delighted to welcome Talla 2XLC to the label, as he teams up with regular Dan Thompson for an aggressively tough and uplifting piece entitled Velocity.

This concludes our slate of releases for 2016, and we thank you all for your continued support throughout the year. See you in the new year.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Coldharbour recordings finishes 2016 with a big bang. This time Markus Schulz choose for us 3 incredible stand out tracks that will be included in the majority of underground trance sets without doubts. Dave Neven's remix on Blackstone by Mike EFEX turns the techier darker original into a full on big room trance affair with driving techy bassline, chunky drums, acid overtones while the breakdown is majestic with huge soaring synthy hooks that bring color to any grey moody day while the distorted synthy rave hook comes to the surface and after the big room build up we reach the climax that is euphoric and hands in the air to the maximum. Trance tsunami size sounds that will please your ears. When Dan Thompson meets the beloved legend Talla 2XLC the result can be only Velocity. Big room maddening mainstage trancer with dark basslines, pounding drums and great breakdown with massive synthy plucks and main synthy riff that is larger than life. The build up is intense and unstoppable leading to a powerful celebratory out of this world climax to send you to another world. Finally the uplifting trance heads get Loco In Acapulco by Ronski Speed & Marc Van Gale. Energetic pounding foundation lead the track to the piano focused breakdown that is luscious and ethereal while the main synthy theme appears to add the Ibiza touches to the final result. The climax is euphoric and travelling as we want our quality trance to be. 3 must have future trance classics. #PureGold Love It [/content]
