REVIEW: Mr. Pit - Space E.P. out on Coldharbour recordings

His palette of work encompasses an important foundation throughout the history of Coldharbour Recordings, and Romanian native Mr. Pit returns to the spotlight again with an intriguing three-track selection of compositions through his Space E.P.

Leading track Destination Kepler has been a firm favorite of Markus Schulz, particularly when setting the scene for his recent open to close club sets. The fusion of Mr. Pit's famed nasty beats and fabled melodies work a treat, with the hypnotic 'Follow Me' vocal a welcome touch.

Supporting Destination Kepler is two more hypnotic affairs, with both Lychees and Space Toy making regular appearances during Mr. Pit's sets through various worldwide Coldharbour Nights. Those who like their subtle melodies weaved with a dose of techy percussion will gravitate towards these.

Always a name to monitor, Mr. Pit's work continues to innovate.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Space EP by the very talented Mr Pit includes 3 very strong progressive trance tracks that attempt successfully to be different and be really unique. Firstly Destination Kepler (Original Mix) is a very dark brooding progressive smasher will female vocal samples asking the clubbers to "Follow Me". Pumping beats, epic synths and vintage elements makes this record quite unusual as it tries to be dark and more uplifting and manage to keep the balance.  Lychees (Original Mix) is another dark haunting tribal progressive trancer with tribal grooves, energetic pulsating basslines and very cool like guitar riff melody that runs through the whole track adding a very vintage romantic atmosphere. With long atmospheric breakdown and airy effects the track manage to create a sonic experience that absorb the interest of the listener completely.Lastly Space Toy is a darker progressive techno affair with spacey effects, dark basslines and very amusing sound effects. All three tracks attempt to break the boundaries of what you know if they manage to succeed on that is up to you to decide. Love it [/content]
