The dust has barely settled on his immense Hydra EP, but Colombian maestro KhoMha is back under Coldharbour focus in time for this year's Winter Music Conference festivities. And it's a big one to deliver, in the form of Asylum.
The Medellin native, now residing near Coldharbour headquarters in Miami, is set to play a pivotal role in label owner Markus Schulz's upcoming Scream 2 Bus Tour throughout April. However, Asylum has been prominent in both their sets over the past couple of months, notably during the New World Punx performance at A State of Trance 650 in Utrecht.
A dark, tech infused monster highlighted by its menacing percussion and breakdown, Asylum is an essential pick ahead of WMC season and beyond.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Coldharbour recordings is going from strength to strength with stunning tracks to light up your night and enlighten your dj set. Next release that you can not afford to miss comes from the hands of the trusted dj & producer Khomha who delivers always tracks that bring havoc on the dancefloor and cause insane crowd reactions. His track Asylum is his next lethal weapon that will be played a lot in the Miami Winter Music Conference parties. It's dark, moody and in your face with wide open ears to wide variety of influences in order to sound forward thinking and futuristic to the maximum. It contains elements of progressive trance, big room house and even tech trance as well. Techy chunky beats, dark moody basslines and on top the percussion melody interrupted from various dubstep sound effects. The uplifting euphoric synthy riff appears in the breakdown followed by short uplifting hands in the air sequence as well. Another shorter breakdown comes and the track moves towards its final climax dark, punchy and in your face. Its definitely tailor made to create mayhem on big rooms and open air festivals. Asylum is the type of track that home headphones do injustice so if you wish to enjoy it to its fullest you should play it loud and proud in a massive soundsystem. Top Stuff! Love IT
