Electro-funk pair Chromeo has been dropping a series of spectacular dance tracks ahead of its fourth studio album, "White Women," and one of the highlights has been the unapologetic throwback groove "Jealous (I Ain't With It)". The Chainsmokers, the production duo currently taking off with its Hot 100 hit "#Selfie," has put its spin on "Jealous" with a sumptuous remix of the track.
Whereas the original "Jealous (I Ain't With It)" blasts off with an uptempo beat in its opening seconds, The Chainsmokers remix begins with a thoughtful piano solo and slowly builds to dance floor. The Chainsmokers (Drew Taggart and Alex Pall) have recently remixed songs by Ellie Goulding, The Wanted and Smallpools, but their Chromeo re-imagining is especially ambitious.
"This remix is both smokin' and off the chain," says Dave 1, who composes Chromeo alongside P-Thugg.
Chromeo's new album, "White Women" is due out on May 12 through Parlophone/Atlantic.
