REVIEW: Jimmy Chou - Broken Empire / Blitz out on Discover White

1-Broken Empire
2-Blitz

Jimmy Chou has been at the forefront of Vancouver’s trance movement since its conception. He’s played alongside countless top named artists – such as Above & Beyond, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, Sean Tyas, Simon Patterson, John O'Callagahn, Kyau & Albert, Myon & Shane 54 and many more.

From promoting high-energy events to pulse-pounding sets, Jimmy has now made a mark around the globe. Already gaining massive support from the likes of Aly & Fila, Arctic Moon, Bjorn Akesson, Bryan Kearney, Indecent Noise and Simon Patterson.

2013 looks set to be another big year for Jimmy having already remixed Jonathan Carvajal's superb "Falling Man", also on this label and having had "Broken Empire" feature on Bissen's Global Trance USA album.

Both the tracks on this E.P. have a big feel about them. Melodic toplines merge seemlessly with full on acidic riffs and banging percussion.

Add to this the highest level of production skills and you are guaranteed some major league peak time action!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Discover White presents the brand new EP by Jimmy Chou with two very strong uplifting trancers. Broken Empire starts with a breaks intro and then moves to full on rough main section.  combines easy to ear euphoric synths with grungy dirty nasty acid sounds who add to the track the tech trance dangerous and underground edge to make it suitable even for psy trance sets. Blitz continues on the same rough, hard and heavy pathway of acid trance with techy metallic beats, punchy in your face driving basslines and quite dark atmosphere that changes when in the breakdown the distorted synhy lead comes to the surface to add some light and colour. If you like crowds with hands in the air and clubbers going insane drop the tunes, Like IT!
