REVIEW:Ticon - Costa Rica/Nefertiti on Baroque records

1-Costa Rica
2-Nefertiti

We are more than a little excited, to welcome the mighty Ticon to baroque.. for our first audio outing in 2012!

The lead track here , 'Costa Rica' moves off with shuffling beats and a cool house ( with a touch of electro ) bassline, sparkling pads & soundshots work their magic, while clever use of percussion keep the arrangement interesting. sliding pads & whirly soundscapes add atmosphere.. and bouncy drums add some beef after the break!

'Nefertiti' is a deeper brooding builder.. full of snappy snakey shakes & deep drums.. a wirey synth builds amidst slithers of tuned bass, before a bright bubbly popping synth line sneaks its way into the groove. All building to a crescendo, in a dark moody way.. perfect stuff!!

Dimitri Kechagias review: The superb Ticon start the Baroque releases for 2012 with a big bang and with their superb EP that includes two really different and equally absorbing and exciting for the dancefloor tracks. Costa Rica as the name suggests is a beautiful summery melodic progressive house affair that will bring in your mind sunshine on the beachbar and sexy bodies dancing all over under its hypnotic driving sexy erotic rhythm. 8 minutes of aural pleasure and inspired composition will let you dreaming on the dancefloor and feeling good. Nefertiti is by contrast a deeper moodier more atmospheric track that applies more serious and dramatic melodic riffs in order to offer us a superb dj set builder that grows more and more each single second giving you that sense of wondering what is coming next. Great ep of proggy techy chunky beats to get you on the floor! Love it!
