REVIEW: Wellenrausch - Sometimes Pianos Cry EP out on Slideways Music

We kick off the new year with another Slideways debut, this time coming from Berlin mega-talents, Wellenrausch!

The duo has been affectionately nicknamed 'Darklords' by their following and it's easy to see why with this next offering, set to release on January 18th.

'Sometimes Pianos Cry' oozes the deep, progressive sound that Wellenrausch are notorious for. A kaleidoscopic intro draws you into a deep and brooding groove combined with wonderfully intricate percussion that continuously builds tension up to a dramatic, spine-tingling piano break. A stunning piece of work by the Wellenrausch boys and we're extremely proud to add them to our roster!

Slideways regular, Solid Stone, provides us with the first remix of the package. His fusing of techno and progressive, combined with his signature moody, rumbling bassline & chuggy beats has blended really well with the gentle melody and twinkling piano keys. Solid Stone never disappoints!

The final interpretation of 'Sometimes Pianos Cry' is provided by Michael A, which is another first for the label. Belarus based Michael A lays down a more relaxed, chilled-out vibe with his approach, closing out the EP beautifully.

We hope you love this release as much as we do :)

Enjoy!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Slideways Music reveals the magical track Sometimes Pianos Cry by the beloved project Wellenrausch. The original mix is progressive trance at its very best with minimal travelling smooth dark moody haunting basslines, techy spacious drums and overall great percussion along with vocal chops and dark vintage synthy layers. The result is dreamy, calming, soothing and certainly truly special for the open ears. Solid Stone is well known for his ability to turn anything in gold and his version is even more melodic, even more hypnotic and even more upfront that pleases the senses and elevates your inner being. Dark piano chords, mysterious noises and three dimensional sound design makes instantly the difference. You feel totally addicted and lost in music without second thoughts. Michael A. adds his own spin and the result is simply spacious, sparkling  and perfect for any deep progressive trance set. The swirling synths, the vintage layers and the whole overall atmosphere is giving you the impression of rich wide variety of sound layers that interplay and interact to each other. It's true that sometimes even Pianos can Cry. #PureGold 10/10 Love It
