REVIEW: Nicolas Haelg - Open Up People out on The Bearded Man / Armada Music

True story: riding the subway in Manhattan, The Bearded man happened upon a delightful string quartet playing in-between the platforms. When high art meets low brow, anything can happen, and while it’s safe to say that most lookers on were pleasantly surprised, one sneaky gentleman felt the need to steal the bow of the violinist mid-song. Ruining a rare beautiful moment in an otherwise bleak environment, it seemed that humanity’s better nature had lost this fight.

Out stepped The Bearded Man, and in a flash, he plucked a handful of hairs from his glorious beard, strung them together on an elongated, stale churro, and applied rat saliva as resin. The day was saved. Let it not be said that The Bearded Man is an enemy of music.

That’s why he loves Nicolas Haelg so darn much.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The Bearded Man is a label that reached the high level of perfection that not many labels manage to do in a such short time and space frame. Stunning deep melodic sweet house tracks that sound perfect on radio stations and loud sound systems too. The latest one comes from Nicolas Haelg and is called Open Up People. Superb atmosphere with tripping out sonic textures that will make you drift away to million miles away. Dark haunting basslines, live like percussion and minimal steady groove while on top great piano melodies are added with 80's pop themes while guitar riffs add that country / western touch to it. The female vocal is truly hypnotic and deeply sensitive inviting the listener to "Open Up" their minds and with openminded attitude to listen great music like this one. Melodic smooth and spacey Open Up People will bring sunshine in a rainy day and will melt the snow from your heart away. Warm, romantic anthem that make you feel secure and protected in a glorious past somewhere in the future. 100% Classy production. Love It
