REVIEW: Armin van Buuren - Communication (Paul Oakenfold Full On Fluoro Mix) on Perfecto rec.

“Communication” is arguably one of the most iconic trance records ever released – hosting one of Armin’s most instantly recognisable riffs to date. A seminal trance classic that influenced a generation.

Originally released in 1999 on Dutch label Cyber Records, Armin “Communication”, as it was originally known, quickly gained worldwide notoriety with numerous re-releases appearing on the likes of AM:PM (UK), Insolent Tracks (Spain), BSR (Italy) and Dance Divison (Germany) in the year that followed.

Taking on the full artist name Armin van Buuren in 2007 - “Communication” recently saw a new lease of life on Armada’s own Armind imprint with a package of fresh remixes from John Askew, Coldware, James Dymond and Thomas Heredia.

Fastforward a couple of years and now Perfecto Records are very proud to present the awesome ‘Full On Fluoro Mix’ by label boss and trance stalwart Paul Oakenfold - who now puts his signature ‘Fluoro’ spin on this absolutely timeless classic.

Enjoy.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Armin van Buuren is responsible for unforgetable classics like Communication. Can you forget the characteristic piano melody and the massive synthy lead that you instantly recognise whenever you listen it in a dj set and you get  goosebumps instantly? Communication changed the trance landscape and is used as landmark of the trance sound of the early 2000. Now Perfecto Records delivers the Paul Oakenfold Full on Fluoro treatment and as you can easily understand rather than delivering his unique big room trance style, he wears his fluorescent uniform and delivers the version that will satisfy older like me trance fanatics and the younger generation of fans who came in contact with trance in recent years.  The track starts with psy trance infused aggressive bassline and pulsating drums that give to the track drive and energy. Some hints of the main melody are allowed to appear and make you think straight away of Communication. His breakdown is long, atmospheric and truly epic with the piano, synths and the spacey strings travelling your senses to another dimension. Excitement and intensity will make any trance fans  scream and shout as the build up comes in and lead the track to its full on hands in the air euphoric feel good climax. Anthemic synths and epic melody will carry you on board for a floating journey of emotions and dynamism. The track finishes off after a short break with its psy tech trance rough and thunderous sequence. If you ask me if it was worth it or better to allow such a classic to rest in peace I will answer straight away that classics are there to be remixed constantly and offered to new producers to add their own interpretations otherwise music becomes soulless merchandise/souvenir of a distant past. The so called classics  loose their connection with the younger crowd that should get to know them as well and new remixes bridge them with the past. I wonder how Jean Michel Jarre can remix this classic for instance by adding his classic synths? #PureGold Love It
