REVIEW: Thomas Mengel - Sonrisa incl Kenneth Thomas remix on IAMPHOENIX / Alter Ego

Thomas Mangel is back for his second single on the label and once again, bringing us into the big room stadium sound. Soaring leads and epic energy. Epic House, Progressive House, Electro? We just call it good music.

Kenneth Thomas is back to compliment this release. Taking a step back from his tranceier side, he takes a page out of the W&W or Ummet Ozcan's notebook and gets massive and dirty with his drops yet amplifying the emotional edge of the chords and vocal accents in the break.

Both of these are made for the big moments in the night! Welcome to the Sonrisa.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the best and must check out progressive house record labels is of course IAMPHOENIX headed by the superstar dj & producer Kenneth Thomas. The latest release seems to be one of their biggest anthems so far including remix by the label owner. Thomas Mengel is considered to be one to watch and his track Sonrisa is big room epic progressive house at its very best. If you like the melodic Swedish House side of big room you will adore this track. Great feel good sunkissed synths in the breakdown combined with superb cracking beats and jumping basslines for an enjoyable and must go ride. Let your body free, close your eyes and dream that you dance this anthem in Ibiza by the side of the sea. If you want something a little bit harder come along cause Kenneth Thomas did some magic with it. He turns the track into a huge festival house / mainstage anthem with aggressive raw basslines, tough and rocking kicks and his touch on the breakdown is excellent as he adds even some female voices along with the summery balearic melody and with parade like drums builds the anticipation until the heavy bouncy drop to land and create havoc on your dancefloor. It's so good that MOS TV choose it for their YOUTUBE channel. BIG ROOM ALERT, Love iT
