Trance Review: OTTAGON, TW3LVE & Giuseppe Ottaviani - Feel It Coming out on Armada Music

Renowned Italian producer, musician and DJ Giuseppe Ottaviani, celebrated as one of trance music’s most prolific talents, explores the fusion of trance and melodic techno as "OTTAGON".

The name "OTTAGON" is a nod to a new visionary live show, debuted at Dreamstate SoCal 2024, which features an innovative setup of eight Novation MIDI keyboards arranged in an octagonal formation, with Ottaviani positioned at an angle on stage to deliver a dynamic, immersive experience. The show served as an opportunity to road-test tracks from the forthcoming album, specially crafted for this cutting-edge live concept. The first release of the brand new 6 track AZZURRO EP is here called Feel It Coming with the amazing Tw3lve.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The track Feel It Coming, from the AZZURRO EP, is a 128 BPM progressive trance masterpiece that blends pulsating basslines, thumping drums, and punchy kicks with lush, warm synths and string layers. Giuseppe Ottaviani’s signature production style is evident in the meticulous sound design, with each harmonic layer carefully sculpted to deliver a sense of depth and euphoria. Tw3lve’s vocal performance adds a rich emotional resonance, perfectly complementing the track’s melodic and rhythmic elements. From a technical perspective, the production showcases expert use of dynamic range and spatial design. The track’s drops and transitions are crafted with precision, employing sidechain compression, layered automation, and stereo imaging to create a sense of motion and anticipation. The effects, from subtle reverb tails to carefully modulated delays, enhance the atmosphere without overwhelming the core groove. The arrangement maintains originality by combining the melancholic depth of melodic techno with the uplifting progression of trance, resulting in a cohesive storytelling arc. In terms of application for fitness, wellness, and mental health, Feel It Coming has strong potential. Studies in music cognition and exercise science (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012; Thoma et al., 2013) show that music with a 120–130 BPM range can enhance physical performance, reduce perceived exertion, and elevate mood. Its rhythmic drive and euphoric melodic layers make it ideal for high-intensity workouts, spin classes, or yoga flow sessions focused on energy release. Furthermore, trance music has been linked to improved cognitive focus and emotional regulation due to its repetitive, immersive qualities (Salimpoor et al., 2011). The positive psychological impact of this track lies in its ability to encourage a state of ‘musical flow,’ where listeners experience both uplifted emotions and reduced stress levels. Its harmonic progressions can stimulate dopamine release, reinforcing feelings of pleasure and motivation. For wellness classes or mental relaxation routines, the track’s warm pads and expansive mix provide a sense of immersive escapism that can help listeners detach from daily stressors. Overall, Feel It Coming is not only a technically polished and club-ready track but also a powerful tool for mental and physical well-being. Its combination of production mastery, emotional resonance, and functional application in health-oriented contexts makes it a standout release in the electronic music landscape. #PureGold Love iT [/content]
