Wednesday October 16th sees the book release of ‘Mary Go Wild – 25 Years of Dance Music in the Netherlands’, in the Rabozaal area of the Melkweg. The event also marks the official opening of the Amsterdam Dance Event, and includes performances by: Quazar, Joost van Bellen, Secret Cinema, 2000 and One, Edwin Oosterwal, Michel de Hey, Steve Rachmad, and Fierce Ruling Diva. Expect a night pulsating with music from past to present, spectacular visuals based on the entire history of dance music, and countless extras, such as an exhibit of these past 25 years in the Rabozaal foyer. The book release will be open to ticketholders as well. And finally, the long-awaited ‘Mary Go Wild’ will be presented to the public.
‘Mary Go Wild’ contains nearly 600 pages, and covers the history of 25 years of dance music in the Netherlands, from the deepest, darkest beats of the underground, to spectacular mega-raves in football stadiums. Over 60 authors, photo editors and photographers have committed years of research to produce an absolute standard for fans of electronic music and its events. An impressive reference book, as well as a book full of great stories, this is a must-have for anyone who has ever nestled up to a speaker with their eyes shut.
