House Review: Trilucid - Let Go Of Your Pain out on Anjunadeep Explorations

Trilucid debut on Anjunadeep Explorations with their new single ‘Let Go Of Your Pain’.

The London-based duo of Andy MacDougall and Hilton Caswell have spent the past year continuing their rise through the melodic and progressive house world, building on a string of standout releases and milestone achievements. Their remix of Dave Seaman & Quivver’s ‘Voice Recognition’ held the Beatport HYPE Progressive House #1 throughout the entirety of March 2025, while their original ‘See Through You’ earned support from SiriusXM BPM, a spot in MTV’s Club Big 20, and airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Wind Down Mix.

On the live side, Trilucid continue to expand their footprint both in the UK and abroad. Longtime residents at Ministry of Sound, they more recently supported Duke Dumont on two Australia tour dates, headlined Chasing Sunsets & UV’s takeover at the Valetta Ditch in Malta, and maintained a strong presence across London with shows at Ministry of Sound, Brixton Jamm, Hackney Bridge, Lafayette, and Egg. Their touring legacy stretches from SW4 to Space, Amnesia, Pacha, and Café del Mar, cementing the pair as firmly trusted club performers.

A fixture of the melodic and progressive scene, Trilucid have amassed over 60 million Spotify streams with releases across UV, Proton, Colorize, and their own Ionica Audio label. Known for their forward-thinking production style and their fan-favorite Sunrise and Sunset mixes, they continue to draw support from both underground selectors and global tastemakers.

Trilucid’s ‘Let Go Of Your Pain’ is out now on Anjunadeep Explorations.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Trilucid’s Let Go Of Your Pain, released on Anjunadeep Explorations, is a masterclass in deep melodic progressive house. Clocking in at 123 BPM, the track balances a bouncy groove with an exquisitely emotional piano-driven narrative. The production showcases a seamless blend of melancholic, moody string arrangements and vibrant, uplifting piano chords, which are elevated by the soulful, resonant male vocals. The breakdown is particularly effective in immersing the listener, creating an atmosphere that feels simultaneously introspective and euphoric. From a technical standpoint, the rhythm and groove of the track are meticulously crafted, with a punchy, side-chained bassline providing continuous propulsion. The harmonic layering is refined, featuring lush pads and subtle arpeggiations that create a spacious, three-dimensional soundscape. Each transition, drop, and build-up is executed with precision, maintaining energy flow while ensuring dynamic contrast—key for captivating both dance floors and headphone listeners. The production techniques demonstrate top-tier sound design: careful EQing ensures clarity across the spectrum, while reverb and delay are employed to create a vivid spatial environment. The vocal processing enhances emotional resonance without overpowering the instrumental bed. Dynamic range is preserved, allowing the track to breathe and avoid fatigue, which increases its replay value in both club and wellness settings. Beyond the technical excellence, Let Go Of Your Pain is notable for its positive psychological and physiological impact. Scientific studies suggest that music with moderate tempos and emotional resonance can reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance mental focus (Thoma et al., 2013). For fitness and wellness classes, the 123 BPM range aligns well with light cardio or flow-based yoga sessions, supporting synchronic movement and heightened endorphin release (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). The emotive qualities of the track may also stimulate dopamine release, fostering a sense of catharsis and emotional relief (Salimpoor et al., 2011). Thus, Trilucid’s production not only excels in artistry but also in contributing to mental well-being and the mind-body connection.#PureGold Loveit [/content]
