Presenting her debut on the Rub A Duck imprint is L'Raquel featuring F.I.69 with her single "Mind Ya Bizness".
Hailing from California, U.S., 23 year old L'Raquel is an exciting new name in the world of electronic / dubstep and trap. Active for a little over a year now, she already released a long list of tracks like "Never Drink Wine", "Blaze", "High For This", "F*ck With Me", "Mirror Mirror", "Roll One Up" (with Yung Incredible) and many others. Not pussyfooting around with a dime a dozen lyrics, L'Raquel represents a much needed breath of fresh air in today's avalanche of sugar coated, radio friendly female acts. Given the straight forward quality of her video of "Mirror Mirror", it is no surprise that she has received a lot of recognition this past year. Slowly but surely building up a worldwide audience in the meantime, she also performed live at the Sacramento Electronic Music Festival 2012.
Influenced by acts like Omar Linx, Diplo, Bro Safari, Krewella and Kitty Cowell, L'Raquel teamed up with the Russian producers Konstantine Nevelskiy and Igor Maksimenko a.k.a. F.I.69 for "Mind Ya Bizness". Dropping a serious blend of trap/dubstep, the track drags broiling synth stabs across sub-bass beat programming that fit seamlessly with L'Raquel on the mic. F.I.69 took care of the remix in a similar trap/dubstep setting, but with a rougher, jagged edge to it. Food for DJs no doubt, "Mind Ya Bizness" will hit the dance floors hard.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Superb new queen of dubstep L'Raquel presents her fantastic single Mind Ya Bizness. Rub A Duck brings to the fore front of the bass scene a very talented singer with attitude and real energy to get the dancefloors burning. Her lyrics are super clever and with particular stance in life. The original mix is great mixture of dubstep and trap that is danceable, amusing and very entertaining. Pure party material with realistic factor in it. There is a dub mix for the non vocal followers as well. F.I.69 remix is even tougher, rougher packed with energy, pumping bassline and the full vocals to sing a long and shake your thang. It can become a surprising hit on pop dance radio stations. Love iT!
