REVIEW: Kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream 2013 out on Monster Tunes

Monster Tunes enlists the production talents of Irishman Gary Maguire and Polish born American Thomas Datt to remix a complete classic from the Monster vault in time for the 'Summer'!

Kuffdam & Plant's epic trancer 'Summer Dream' was originally released in 2005 to a rapturous reception including BBC Radio 1 airings by both Judge Jules ('Tried & Tested' tune of The Week) and Pete Tong ('House Rules' tune of the week) it also featured on Paul Van Dyk's 'Politics Of Dancing 2' compilation amongst others, and now we've brought it back with the help of two modern day trance heroes!

After hearing Gary Maguire's belting remix of the Perfecto classic 'Bullet In The Gun' we instantly knew we had to let him loose on this one. Opting for the more tradional trance formulae, Gary firmly places his own mark on the track with a snarling, psy-esque choppy bassline rhythm, tech trance stabs and an almighty euphoric build up!

Reinforcement comes from one of the most consistent remixers in the game, Thomas Datt delivers the energy for his remix with a driving percussion / bassline combo and rawkus acid stabs, which fire at full force after the breakdown!

Dimitri Kechagias review: When I opened my email box and I read the title of the promo I was totally shocked in the positive way of course. The unforgettable feel good co-production of John Steven and Cypriot Yiannis Hadjicharalambous aka Kuffdam & Plant that we hope to come back with new music, Summer Dream strikes back with two fantastic new versions for the summer of 2013. First of all the superb Gary Maguire who put his hand on the classic and transforms  it into a dynamic full on uplifting melodic trance version of the highest callibre. With touches of psy-trance and tech the talented Irishman transforms the original into a future trance anthem. The breakdown is long and epic with excellent rework of the memorable melody with excellent synths that will remind you classic early 2000 trance anthems by Ferry Corsten or Armin van Buuren.  Second equally magnificent remix comes from the fantastic Thomas Datt who never disappoints and constantly delivers the goods. With tougher beats, rougher basslines, acid overtones and energetic melodies builds his superb rework.  The breakdown is quite short enough to bring the hair raising melody to the top and add the lovely spoken female vocal too. His climax is full on euphoric hands in the air trance that is floating, flowing and you guessed it right. Very dreamy and ice creamy as well. Excellent idea to bring back the classic with two remixes that respect the original and update its elements in the most satisfying and shiver giving way. Trance is Alive & Kicking! Love IT!
