REVIEW: Spix - The New Generation out on Avanti / Black Hole recordings

1. Original Mix
2. Lucas and Steve Remix

Spix presents his brand new single release "The New Generation" on the Avanti imprint.

Spix, full name Melvin Spix, was born in 1990 in The Netherlands. As a child he played the drums, taking his first steps in the world of music. Initially he was into all kinds of styles, but at age 15 he found is genre of choice and started producing his own trance/progressive music. His initial releases already received the support from artists like Tiësto, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten. Over time Melvin changed his style and concentrated on tech- and deep house. The success came quickly and the single "Braga" not only got signed to the V-Essentials label, but also harvested the support from big names like Stefan K, Dave Lambert, Roger Sanchez, Ivan Pica, The Flash Brothers, Nikki Belucci and many others. Melvin has released tracks together with T.O.M. and now drops his brand new solo single "The New Generation".

"The New Generation" is the perfect party track for a late night out and moves between bass driven house and dirty techno on the electro tip. Absolute massive floorfiller for the packed clubs. The Lucas and Steve remix features a newly recorded arrangement and extra percussion, ready to take over the dance floor!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Avanti recordings sublabel of Black Hole recordings  is on the rise at the moment with even better and stronger releases. The brand new club anthem is called The New Generation by Spix. High production values for what can be easily defined as big room club house at its  very best. The original version is a fantastic banging tribal tech house affair with deep  basslines, meaty tribal beats, dark clubby melodies  with haunting and sweaty atmosphere. Its definitely a  very sexy track with muscles to pump up the blood vessels and work out in the middle of the dancefloor or to play in your gym training as well. Pure masculine club power to move big rooms or stadiums. While you hear it the only thing you wanna do is dance your a** off. The mastering on this track I believe has played a very serious role. Lucas and Steve tranlate the original wild bull into a funky playful chunky tech house club cracker with additional melodic elements, groovy rhythm and hip house vocal samples as well. If you like the sound of the Italian masters like Manuel De La Mare or Federico Scavo this track comes on the same direction. More summery and sunny with rays of warm light and welcoming atmosphere on the dancefloor. Particularly the breakdown reveals a little sweet melodic riff that works so well upon the incredible sound design. Great to warm up the dancefloor or to keep the pace of it under surveillance. Quality always wins. Highly recommended. Love iT!
