REVIEW: Chilledhead - Wind Spell out on Toneplay/Black Hole recordings

1-Original Mix
2-Arctic Sounds Remix
3-Tonerush Remix

Toneplay Records kick off a busy 2012 release schedule with the beautiful, piano laced, epic progressive trancer Wind Spell from Russian producer Chilledhead.

The sublime pads, subtle vocal hints and blissful, classy breakdown of the Original make for a great set opener. Fellow Russian producer Arctic Sounds takes all the best bits of the Original and trances things up while Greek newcomer Tonerush delivers a tougher edge for his mix, managing to keep all the beauty but getting decidedly harder after the main breakdown.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Toneplay is an upcoming quality label headed by the famous trance producer and dj Andy Perring aka dj Pulser who released last year his brilliant album The Space Between Stars. The brand new release is a superb progressive trancer on the high quality standards that someone can expect from dj Pulser who has the A&R role as well. Chilledhead delivers the beautiful and very danceable Wind Spell. The original mix is a superb floating and very dream prog trancer with long emotional breakdown with exotic vocal samples and amazingly sensitive piano melody that will get under your skin for sure. Very soon a huge synthy riff appears to add that big room appeal. When the beat kicks back it continues in a wonderful prog trance direction with piano riffs, synths, warm strings that alltogether create a magical atmosphere.  Arctic Sounds pushes things even higher in his remix in a bouncier but equally chilled prog trance direction. The breakdown is equally long and spacey with ambient sounds but soon the beat is back for the hands up main part that exotic style melodies, along with piano riffs and the bubbly tribal trance beats create a wonderful soundscape for the listener to escape into and get lost for some minutes. Lastly Tonerush is a talent that slowly builds his good reputation as he delivers a superb deep but driving prog trance version. After the 1st short breakdown goes on that groovy electro prog trance style until to land on the 2nd longer breakdown. He unleashes a very large synthy riff that is very hypnotic along with piano riffs for powdering. The beat kicks in with a booming bombastic style for a big hands in the air section on a style that djs like Markus Schulz or Andy Moor or Lange will adore. Quality all the way! Love IT!
