2-Keyworth Remix

A brooding, atmospheric and intricate work, "Median" brings a blend of atmospheric breakbeats, grinding techno and haunting progressive sounds. Featured on Above & Beyond's recent "Anjunabeats Volume 9", "Median" showcases Casey's sense of drama and artistry to full effect - as well as including perhaps the most inventive use of a saxophone in an Anjunabeats release to date.
An epic showpiece of Above & Beyond's TATW400 set in Beirut, Keyworth's own remix is a throbbing nine minute journey into the unknown. With sweeping electronic strings setting the scene, Keyworth slowly shifts into an accelerating blur of edgy sirens, tech-trance rhythms and crashes. Changing gear yet again, it drops into a deep chasm with shades of Pink Floyd in its dramatic piano tink led breakdown - only to take off at full throttle once again.
A challenging, forward-thinking and intricate piece of music, it completes an impressive single from an artist that will be featured on the label much more in coming months.
Dimitri Kechagias review: If you are fan of atmospheric progressive trance music then you should be fan of Breakfast tracks and productions. As it seems 2012 is going to be a very large year for him as he presents his new project on Anjunabeats. Im very glad to see this great artist keeping his music so underground and so connected to the dancefloor as well. Median is the kind of tracks that words are hard to describe because its impossible to catch with man made words his rich texture of sounds and effects he uses in order to build his atmosphere and shape for his audience a magical world to inhabit for the minutes that this great track lasts. It comes in two versions that are quite different and will satisfy different moments of your trance odyssey. The original mix focus more on the atmospheric side of things with bubbly progressive trance beats, electro and breaks influences and that saxophone sound that perhaps you didnt expect to hear so will catch you by surprise. As always with Kasey his tracks are unique, different and very refreshing against the same used formulas. His Keyworth remix on the other side is the clubbier version perfect to play in a big room set and get the clubbers out of their heads. For this project he applies a tech trance manic beat and dirty basslines in order to make it rougher and punchier. The saxophone riff is wonderfully placed on certain moments that he wants to emphasize the dramatic nature of his creation but the real beauty lies in the breakdown. You are going to get a melody that sounds that is coming straight from Asian country like China or Japan. You will be transfered in another place and time for sure until the banging beat will be back to finish of on the dancefloor sweating and dancing without end. Marvelous release that will change all your preconceptions about Trance! Love it!
