FEATURE: DJ Ferry Corsten Celebrates 20th Anniversary As Producer At Opening Amsterdam Dance Event




Wednesday, 19 October 2011, DJ Ferry Corsten celebrates his twentieth anniversary as a producer. That evening he will, together with Sander van Doorn, open the 16th Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) with a show at Club Escape in Amsterdam. Corsten released his first track ‘Spirit of Adventure’ in 1991 and has been producing international hit singles and award-winning dance tracks and albums ever since. He collaborated with artists no less than U2, Faithless, Moby, The Killers and the Japanese superstar Ayumi Hamasaki. In addition he belongs in the top 10 DJs in the world, supported by millions of fans.


20 years of Ferry Corsten After winning the most important music prize in the Netherlands (De Grote Prijs van Nederland) in 1989, Ferry Corsten started off his career as a producer in 1991 by releasing his first track ‘Spirit of Adventure'. Not much later he started his first record label, 'Tsunami' and later he mixed his Trance Nation series for the famous UK based label Ministry of Sound, the first part being one of the best selling dance compilations ever with more than 300,000 copies sold. And besides the public, critics can appreciate his musical versatility just as much. He was elected Producer of the Year at the prestigious Ericsson Muzik Awards and he received a Dutch Silver Harp. The popularity of Corsten’s recognizable and upbeat, uplifting trance and house sound among prestigious international bands resulted in remixes for, among others, U2, Faithless, Moby, The Killers, the Japanese superstar Ayumi Hamasaki, William Orbit, Duran Duran, Public Enemy and Tiësto. In the mean time Ferry Corsten produced several albums and he is now working on a new album with top artists, to be released early next year, on his label Flashover Recordings. The single ‘Brute’, which he made in collaboration with Armin van Buuren, is currently on radio stations around the world and fills the dance floors. His interactive radio show “Corsten’s Countdown” is currently broadcasted in over 50 countries already.

To celebrate his twentieth anniversary as a producer Ferry Corsten will launch a special app. This app provides a unique mix of tracks that he produced during his career and will be available at the appstore from November this year.




The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) will take place from 19 to 22 October and is the world's leading music conference for electronic music and also the biggest club festival in the world. On Wednesday 19 October Ferry Corsten gives a party for friends and relatives to celebrate his birthday. Afterwards everyone is welcome from 23:00 on for the official opening of the ADE at which Corsten and Sander van Doorn will give a show at the Escape.
