House Album Review: Genix - You.Me.Now out on Anjunabeats

Accomplished DJ and producer Damion 'Damo' Houchen, a.k.a. Genix, has kept momentum high since the release of his debut album, '199X', in 2021. Recent years have seen the Anjunabeats linchpin close Above & Beyond's Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge Amphitheatre, launch his club-oriented 'Warehouse55' EP series and event brand, and sell out two headline Warehouse55 events in London and Los Angeles.

Closing 2023 with the 'Warehouse55 (Volume 2)' EP, which earned support from Sasha, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Rebūke, Armin van Buuren and more, he followed that up with an extensive North American tour, and with remixes of Andrew Bayer & Above & Beyond's OceanLab project to bookend his strongest year yet.

All of the above set up 2024 as Genix's year. Kicking off in the YOU.ME.NOW campaign in January, it has gone on to see repeated support on BBC Radio 1 via Danny Howard & Arielle Free, with regular spins also across KISS FM and Sirius XM in the US. He has also been the voice of BBC Radio 1's Dance presents programming through May.

A previous two-time Guinness World Record holder for endurance & fitness-related achievements, album tracks have featured repeatedly on BBC's flagship Premier League football highlights show Match of the Day, talkSport radio coverage and a host of other sport and fitness brands, including an exclusive activation with boutique spin-class studio 1Rebel - fitness & exercise has been a running theme throughout Genix's previous album campaign and now YOU.ME.NOW.

Building on years of innovation and versatility across the spectrum of electronic music, Genix comes full circle on his upcoming album 'YOU.ME.NOW'. An established DJ and producer who's maintained his status as an innovator for the duration of his career, and following an unbeatable run of releases that's cemented him as one of the leading artists on Anjunabeats, Genix was inspired to look towards his roots on his sophomore album.

At a time when the UK club scene is embracing the euphoric energy of 90s rave, 'YOU.ME.NOW' is an album that is perfectly suited for the here and now. Available to pre-order now on 2xLP splatter vinyl.

Genix embarks on a headline tour this June spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, with stops at Concorde 2 in Brighton, Anjunadeep Explorations in Albania, New York, Outernet in London and many more to be announced. Tickets available at anjunabeats.com/genix.

His exceptional You.Me.Now proves how versatile as DJ and producer is and with how easily can swim through various influences and infusions in order to come up with a super exciting result that is pleasurable for the ears and irresistible for your feet. You.Me.Now updates the big dirty rave warehouse sounds for new audiences that can get satisfying glimpses of that era that people were going to dance and not to stand in the middle of the dancefloor competing who will get the best selfie or video to post in socials. The stunning Dream Of You unites Genix & Everyone You Know for the ultimate soulful rave track with poetic urban vocals to connect the street art with strobes and flashing lights. You simply feel it from very deep in your soul to your body nerves and bones. Under My Skin finds Genix collaborating with the always impressive LYCA on vocals for the balearic nostalgic tripping out track that invites you on the dancefloor to let your inhibitions go and feel the beats under your skin.
