ADE 2023: Amsterdam Dance Event confirms first ADE Lab speakers including DVS1, Mama Snake, Reinier Zonneveld, Darude and more

The professionals of the future are made at ADE Lab

ADE Lab, the education and talent development platform for young producers and aspiring professionals, today announces the first confirmed highlights for this year's event, including esteemed artists and producers such as DVS1, Mama Snake, Reinier Zonneveld, Héctor Oaks & Van Anh, Darude, and many others. The curated program is designed to support emerging artists and music professionals in elevating their careers, offering exclusive opportunities for learning and networking.

This year’s ADE Lab is focused on providing an interactive and engaging experience for its attendees, presenting a series of event-wide courses to complete, ranging from Production and Artist courses to Professional and Mixed Media courses. Upon completion of a course, attendees will earn a discount on the ADE Pro Pass for the following year.

RA Exchange live: DVS1
Following last year's Resident Advisor Exchange with Peggy Gou, the techno titan and ultimate club culture preserver DVS1 makes his way to ADE Lab this October. The versatile and boundary-pushing artist and producer shares his personal and professional story on ADE Thursday in an hour-long interview with the respected music journalists of Resident Advisor.

Curating Culture with Mama Snake
Another well-established, pure, and passionate artist is psychedelic pioneer Mama Snake, who opens up about her thought process of curating a DJ set. She follows in the footsteps of Spekki Webu, her b2b 'brother' who was interviewed last year during ADE Lab. What comes into play when selecting tracks, and how do you work on storytelling? Sara Svanholm tells all on ADE Friday.

Filth on Acid demo drop
Techno racer Reinier Zonneveld joins ADE Lab with his label Filth on Acid. Drop your hottest demos with the master of acceleration himself, get live feedback from him on stage, and talk to his label's A&R team about how you can improve your music. The best part: the winning track gets released on one of Filth on Acid's upcoming compilations.

Seedj presents: The Art of Vinyl DJing with Héctor Oaks & Van Anh
These two well-respected vinyl virtuosos combine their extraordinary talents and show you the ropes of DJing with vinyl. How do you shape a DJ set with the records in your bag? And how do you make sure everything sounds smooth? Participants in this workshop may bring their own vinyl records for Van Anh & Héctor Oaks to play with. The duo even dives into the technical side of the art. Join Héctor Oaks' workshop The Art of Improvisation or Van Anh's workshop The Power of Vinyl.

Writing & Producing with Nostalgix
Multi-hyphenate Nostalgix is a producer, writer, and rapper, and is known for her thunderous basslines. Her masterclass is built all around building a beat. If you're up for an insight into one of the most DIY-minded artists of the moment's creative process, this one's for you. How do you use something as organic as your own voice to create scintillating sounds? Nostalgix shows you.

Vibing Out with Darude
Who doesn't know the man who has the most requested track ID? Bring your own USB to this ADE Lab, and make sure the legend asks for your tracks! The concept: during this in-person A&R session, Darude randomly picks two USBs from the stash. The track on both USBs gets thirty minutes of real-time feedback from Darude; the perfect chance to showcase your music and take your career to the next level.

Femme Bass Mafia Workshop
Femme Bass Mafia is a DJ mentoring program for femme, trans and non-binary people, with a focus on bass music and the creation of safer learning spaces. During this three-hour workshop with hosting artists MSJY and Dangermami, you'll learn everything you need to know about getting into the industry in the most sustainable way possible. Femme Bass Mafia answers questions like how to get started, how to create a press kit or a rider, and what you should consider when you're starting to DJ professionally.

Modular Moon: Modular Patching
Dive into the world of the Eurorack synthesizer with Modular Moon and host artist Tulpa Dusha, an established modular synthesis school. Their experts guide you though the physics of sound, basic building techniques, synthesis methods, simple to complex patching, and how you can build live performances. Modular Moon brings their systems to try on the spot - perfect for those who want to try modular methods.

Parallelle's A Day In... ADE Lab
The multi-instrumentalists and electronic composers Julien & Thomas de Bie that make up Musical duo Parallelle are always on the lookout for the most fascinating and extraordinary sounds. As part of their ongoing project 'A Day In...', they host a live special during ADE Lab featuring their organic recordings from the Brakke Grond and Nes grounds. Learn how to record your own unique sounds - and more importantly: how to create your next hit - in this hands-on session.

In addition to the first confirmed artists and speakers hosting workshops during ADE Lab, visitors also get the chance to test all of the newest gear and creative technologies by some of the most forefront brands in electronic music, including Ableton, AIAIAI Audio, Allen & Heath, Deepgrooves, DJ.Studio, DMC40/Technics, L-Acoustics, Roland, Vinylify, and Universal Audio, in custom designed gear test areas and studios. Moreover, CollabHouse and SAE Institute join to host exclusive demo drops and challenges for ADE Lab visitors.
