This year will see the biggest and most diverse art program ever, covering many interactive exhibitions, performances and events across some of the city’s most illustrious venues.

An integral part of ADE Playground, the art route has established itself as one of the more creative aspects of the multi-disciplinary, conference element that ties together so many elements of electronic music culture. A new addition to ADE is LAB111, with an ultra-varied program that ranges from documentaries to art installations, while other exciting new additions to this year’s route include Arti & Amicitiea, Corridor Project Space and House of Red Bull presents The Printshop. The Rembrandt House presents Remtopia; Colin Benders at Work, where modular synth pioneer and composer Colin Benders (Kyteman) will create a unique vinyl release, to be follow through a live stream broadcast.

Make sure to grab the ADE Card (€ 10,-) if you're planning on visiting ADE's Festival & Playground program (ADE Card advantages are also included in the ADE Pass/ADE Conference Pass).

Here’s a pick of some the Art Route stops you should pay attention to:
Foam & X BANK, Spuistraat 172 | Het Stenen Hoofd, Westerdoksdijk 705-C
18-22 October | Free entrance

Foam and X BANK are proud to present a special ADE collaboration between visual artist Jean-Vincent Simonet and DJ Trippin Jaguar. Simonet´s eclectic and mysterious visual language is coupled with Trippin Jaguar´s spirituals soundscapes, for an unparalleled audio-visual experience inside The Vault at X Bank and a life-sized installation at Het Stenen Hoofd.

Immerse yourself in moving sound and image during the opening of the installation with a live audio-visual performance on Thursday 19 October at 8 pm. The installation is on display at Het Stenen Hoofd from Thursday 19 October onwards.

Arti & Amicitiea, Rokin 112
20 October / 6 PM – 2 AM | Tickets €10,- / ADE Card price €5,-

Society for the arts Arti et Amicitiae, founded in 1839, unites visual artists and art lovers at an impressive building on the Rokin in the centre of Amsterdam. A must see at the Art Route. The interior design was done by architect Berlage. Diskomunikacion is the first collab with ADE, an evening where wrong is right and good goes bad. When everyone uses their own intuition art is interpreted in many a way and the artist's subliminal message might get lost in translation. Expect an art exhibition by Raymond Cuyper, a nutritious Arti Buffet by Chef Bert Ham and lots of music performances from Chagall playing her data gloves to Live Coded Improv Techno Jazz by DJ Noriega.

Corridor Project Space, Veemkade 574
18-22 October | Free entrance

Solidarity is essential to survival. Models of collaboration must overcome the current states of competition. Shifts in our engagement modalities can expand into collectivity, connections and reciprocities. To interpret this direction, Corridor invites artists from different disciplines: David Hasert (DE), Mary Ponomareva (RU), Cihad Caner (TR) and Jay Tan (UK). Corridor Project Space is an independent and interdisciplinary contemporary art initiative in Amsterdam with indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces. Corridor believes in the importance of experimental art practices that is off the grid from the institutional and commercial circles. Make sure to catch the live performance by David Hasert, 21 October, 7:30 till 11 PM, its free!

Melkweg Expo, Marnixstraat 409
18-22 October | Free entrance

Growing up with Gabber, Boris’ involvement with the subculture has shifted from participant to observer. For the exhibition Planet Core in Melkweg Expo, Boris followed his fascination to Italy and Japan to research and document the local scenes and the Gabbers inhabiting them. The result is shown trough visuals and installations, transcending the flamboyant visual identity of Gabber, but also showcasing the inner workings of this outspoken subculture. Don’t miss the exhibition opening party on Wednesday 7 till 9 PM with DJs Yoshiko and Neodash Zerox!

LAB111, Arie Biemondstraat 111
18-22 October | Free entrance

Techno and the City travels to Amsterdam and is organised by Techno&Philosophy, a collective which mixes politics, music and arts. The program is hosted by LAB111. After a successful first year in London, this year's theme is Cities as Radical Soundtracks. Sounds and artworks will be combined to offer a political narrative for the future of techno music through sonic images. The exhibition will feature art from Abdul Qadim Haqq, Daniel Chazme, Julien Pacaud, Kathrin Kuhn, Mark Dancey, Michael Lange, Nicola Napoli, Rudy Loewe, Stefan Fähler and Uros Djurovic. Artworks include original material for labels such as Axis, Tresor and Dystopian, as well as dance collectives like Room4Resistance. Make sure to bring your ADE Card, to claim 10% discount on art sales.
