REVIEW: Yotto - Wilderness Girl out on Anjunadeep

10.0
Overall Score

Continuing his fine production run, rising Finnish star Yotto a.k.a Otto Yliperttula returns for his first Anjunadeep release of 2017 with melodic dancefloor weapon ‘Wilderness Girl’.

Debuted by Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 and named ‘Hottest Record In The World’, it follows the success of ‘Marisa’ on Joris Voorn’s Green imprint which was named ‘Essential New Tune’ on BBCR1 by Kölsch, the fifth time Yotto has received the accolade.

‘Wilderness Girl’ is a signature piece of brooding low-end fused with a driving bassline groove and soaring melodies; a memorable peak-time moment throughout the recent Anjunadeep UK tour.

Summary

Yotto is one of the brightest talents who slowly and gradually wins the hearts, minds and space in the digital collection of growing numbers of fans worldwide. His track Wilderness Girl continues his deep progressive house sound that has the cinematic edge that characterises Anjunadeep electronic house style. It starts with nice deep brooding rolling groove while on top some warm strings and cool spoken vocal samples added along with some edgier synthy lines. The breakdown is dark and mysterious with some distorted synthy riffs along with some twinking melodies and suspenseful strings. The track continues in the second part in its own melodic tripping out and enigmatic shape and form as well. #PureGold Love IT
