Blank will be appearing on ADE Pro’s The Godfathers panel along with several other pioneers of linear beats and pre-Detroit techno.
The history of electronic music being so comparatively short, true legends are in short supply, but Yello’s Boris Blank is undeniably one of them. Thanks to his ability to create multi-layered music that was emotionally charged and warm, yet crystal clear, his sound earned him a reputation as the studio/production equivalent of a Swiss watch maker. And in an era when techno and house were still some way off, Yello were making unique music that still resonates today as strongly as did back then. Blank recently released a limited edition box-set featuring a collection of alternative versions and unreleased material from the last 30 years called Electrified, which has since sold out.
