Mathias Schaffhäuser's fourth collection of remixes will be released in March and April 2015 in an exceptionally lavish way. Two vinyl EPs, each with an additional CD, will be released 4 weeks apart. The vinyls will feature the clubbiest tracks, which also will be on the CDs (some of them in uncut original versions), flanked by a handful of more subtle and experimental tunes, making 17 tracks in all.
Many of the pieces are newly edited and mastered, and were produced over the last three years. Because most of the remixes were done for tracks of (sadly) less known artists and released on small underground labels, the album has an uncommercial, underground character. It doesn't sound like the typical remix compilation, but more like an artistically consistent album. Direct quote by Mr. Schaffhäuser: "To me, my RE-'compilations' have the same significance and status as my 'artist' albums; I don't differentiate at all - they are all my babies.“
Dimitri Kechagias review: Mathias Schaffhäuser is considered to be one of Germany's most important techno artist with amazing releases that talk to the hearts of the clubbers and communicate with the DNA of the party dancers all over the globe. Lets take a listen on the tracks included and give a short verdict for them. Motion is remixed by Mathias in an energetic peak time style. I can imagine the crowd going crazy at the Mayday or Nature One. This is what I call straight to the point techno that rocks with thunderous dark basslines, dirty pounding grooves, infectious rhythm and fantastic inspiring vocals by Phil Barnes. Signal Deluxe is next with Cielo Profundo and Mathias is on remix duties. His version is tribal techno with hypnotic trancy vibe to it. Tribal drums, minimal pulsating basslines and cielo samples along with other spacey sounds make this an unmissable sonic experience. Josia Loos and Heating Machine comes next. Mathias goes for a deep tech house version with funky edge and infectious hypnotic groove. The superb ambient like theme are added on top to create that mindblowing cinematic experience that travel your mind to places and spaces. Next is Eskimo with Nordwestpassage on Mathias experimental version. The vocal samples, the minimal beats, the acid jazz touches, the abstract avant garde sound design its simply marvelous. John Jogurt & Sara Aleksander are working together for Once There Was Minimal. Dirty moody underground minimal repetitive techno with excellent cinematic samples and aggressive basslines. Playful techno that can byte you so be careful. Chra and Von Der Liebe comes next. Energetic techno version with tribal club feel and superb hairraising German vocals by Chra. It's one of those tracks that when you enjoy it in a sweaty techno set you get instantly goosebumps for sure. Adda Schade and International is nearly 9 minutes deep tech house gem with minimal techy grooves, dark moody basslines, spacey spicey sounds and fantastic imaginative mind opening sound design. Last but not least Pawas and Anticipacion that lasts for nearly 14:48 minutes. Of course you will not get bored with it. Actually you will ask for more. Very minimal basslines until the pounding drum comes in with percussion melodies, sci-fi sounds and emotional synths that add colour, depth and texture. Super classy techno album that is art that you can dance and truly widen your horizons and music understanding. PureGold Love It
