REVIEW: JES - Two Souls (Remix pack 1) out on Magik Muzik / Black Hole rec

1. James Rigby Remix
2. Sted E & Hybrid Heights Remix
3. Austin Leeds & Redhead Roman Remix

Proving that you can never have enough of a good thing dance music legend JES unleashes not one but two remix packages for her recent emotive Beatport Trance Top 5 single Two Souls. Whereas the original mix focused on the progressive sound of trance the official remixes take the song into some very different territories.

Package one features mixes that encompass trance and progressive genres. Opening with a mix from James Rigby, one of the UK's newest rising stars, who pushes the song deeper towards its trance roots. Gushing layered synths and a bouncy hard trance beat make for a mix that is sure to please trance purists and main room regulars alike. New York beat gurus Sted - E and Hybrid Heights find a grittier side to Two Souls with an electro house influenced progressive mix. Combining a hypnotic riff with an intense beat the duo perfectly complement the depth of the vocals with a peak time crowd pleaser that will comfortably bridge the great progressive / electro divide. Austin Leeds, a true progressive music titan teams up with Czech production wizard Redhead Roman for a hard EDM tinged mix that will surprise and excite. A grimy filtered bass leads the mix with angular synth stabs and effected vocals in a track that is a non-stop energy spiking rollercoaster.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Magik Muzik presents the exceptional new remixes of the latest anthem from Jes called Two Souls divided in 2 parts. The first part includes 3 very different and extremely infectious versions. First of all the beloved dj from Manchester James Rigby service an exceptional uplifting trance remix that makes good judgement of the vocal that seems to survive amongst the rough and furious rough and raw basslines, pumping kicks and pounding drums. The emotional synths are uplifting and sunkissed so you will imagine Ibiza clubs without doubts and Miami WMC parties. This is trance euphoria at its best without being melodramatic or overtly cheesy. I checked this remix on the Trance Gathering party in Amsterdam and I was blown away when I discovered that was an uplifting remix on JES. Sted E & Hybrid Heights Remix moves on the progressive meets mainroom trance remix that is packed with superb piano chords, euphoric synthy plucks and nice pizzicato melodies in the breakdown. The climax is more aggressive and pounding enough to stand well amongst others in the prime time spot of the mainstage sets. Trance scene is so blessed by God to have JES as singer on many tracks. Last but not least Austin Leeds & Redhead Roman Remix is a wonderful progressive house version with crunchy grooves, heavy percussion, rockish riffs and superb long breakdown with variety of synthy plucks that build the tension and lead the track to the ultimate crescendo moment that djs like Hardwell will be very tempted to play. Three very well produced remixes that stand out from the rest. Love IT
