REVIEW: Alexey Selin - White Crystal incl remixes out on Pure Trance recordings

Originally released on the now defunct DeepBlue label back in 2007, White Crystal is regarded by many as an overlooked classic. Rich Solarstone has commissioned brilliant new remixes from two of the scene’s hottest new acts.

Kicking off with Allen & Envy’s remix - a to-the-point modern #138 shake-down. Fans of the duo will be familiar with their clean and polished peak-time trance sound.

Dimitri Kechagias review: DeepBlue was one of the most influential independent trance record labels with unforgettable releases. One of the trance classics released on the label is Alexey Selin with his awesome White Crystal. Now on Solarstone's Pure Trance record label the package of the new remixes is more than reality. The first remix to surface is by the Leicester duo Allen and Envy. The boys are well known for the solid full on euphoric trance sound that never becomes fluffy or over the top. Their remix on White Crystal is grounded with heavy focus on the tough metallic bassline, the pounding drum that bangs and the emotional synths on top that sprinkle the track with colourful paints without dominating it. The breakdown is long and teasing with atmospheric sounds and synthy plucks that lead us beautifully in the crescendo moment that doesn't offend the listen. Everything is balanced with slight focus on the heavy bassdrum, sharp synths, vavooming sub bass and acid overtones. The track is straight forward feel good euphoric trancer that keeps the good UK Trance name. The 2nd new remix is the awesome Dreamy remix. The uber talented producer can not go wrong at this moment as his names surfaces everywhere and he has thousands of releases. He has the ability to deliver quality on whatever he touches. His sound may some find overproduced packed with heavy dose of many epic synthy hooks but definitely tracks like this one need that extra push and energy to bring the clubbers to their highest emotions in order to reach the next level.  Two great Pure remixes on a classic that deserves to revisit often. #PureGold Love it
