Almost 24 months ago, a new event brand graced the north of England. This was a night with a simple concept; to show dedication to progressive music of all kinds, in an intimate venue and to an educated, charismatic and fun-loving crowd. Progmatic emerged and the rest, as they say, is history!
From humble beginnings in the basement of a Preston bar, Progmatic has gone on to host some unforgettable nights across an number of cities and countries. This time out, we're taking over XOLO (Formerly Underdog) beneath Black Dog Ball Room in the heart of Manchester as we start the next chapter in our progressive adventure.
As usual, we'll be showcasing the underground sounds of Deep House, Prog House, Tech House, Techno & Prog Trance all under one roof, the Progmatic way.
For this mile stone event, we have a very special UK exclusive performance from progressive trance man of the moment - BASIL O'GLUE.
Haris Vasiloglou, better known as the man behind the name “Basil O’Glue” is a producer, dj, radio host and label co-owner of the very successful record label Saturate Audio. He is considered without doubt to be the Greek leader of the dark underground progressive trance sound. According to him this branch of trance is closer to the very essence of what trance music is all about.
Born and raised in the cultural city of Athens and now based in Northern Greece away from the cosmopolitan environment and the big city lights, Basil O’Glue crafts his unforgettable dark and mysterious progressive trance journeys.
He has released track after track to build a global loyal following with releases on well known labels like Coldharbour recordings, Afterglow records, Black Hole recordings, Armada Music to name just a few, gaining support from the worlds elite underground DJ's.
His monthly AHFM radio show 'Momentum' showcases the best in prog trance, techno & prog house all blended together seamlessly. What better way for him to make his debut in the UK than by delivering a special, one off 3HR set???
Main support on the night comes in the form of Godskitchen and Sunk Ibiza's main man Sam Mitcham & Bonzai Progressive's Philthy Chit.
No stranger to the Progmatic crowd, we are really pleased to have Sam back for us once again after his stand out set at our 1st Birthday event back in Feb of 2013.
Since then he has continued to grow the success of his pioneering Manchester based trance brand Wax Format and has gone on to have another triumphant summer in Ibiza, running the now legendary Driftwood Trance Boat Party and Sunk @ Privilege all season. It's safe to say his career as a professional dj, producer and promoter continue to go from strength to strength.
Philthy Chit is a name quickly establishing itself amongst the progressive elite. With release after release on prestigious labels such as Bonzai Progressive and Basil's own Saturate Audio, The duo have proven themselves time and time again as one to watch.
Having drawn the attention of major artists and record labels worldwide, Philthy Chit is now signed to the world renowned Perfecto Records and Bonzai Records, along with releases on Saturate Audio and Solarstone's Black Hole records. We're truly excited to be having the lads back for a rare DJ set in their old stomping ground of Manchester.
Pete Bromage is back behind the decks for Progmatic, playing the first set of his new residency for the night. Having played several times for us in the past, we know that Pete never fails to move and immerse a crowd with his pitch perfect & 3 deck, parallel mixing ability teamed with his worldly knowledge of serious progressive music in all it's fine forms.
We think you'll all agree, he's a brilliant addition to the Progmatic residents roster.
Progmatic front man Ashley Bonsall joins forces with Progmatic resident Zigo for this outing. Expect the usual mix of smooth progressive tones from the lads, easing the 2nd Birthday celebrations in for an early set on the night.
On top of all this we will be hosting a DJ competition for Manchester based students with the winner getting the chance to play the first set of the night along with some signed goodies and x2 tickets to the event.
