Steve Anderson is a full time DJ/Producer/Label Owner based in Edinburgh, Scotland. With an extensive history in the music industry which dates back to the age of 7, Steve claimed National & World Drumming titles before the age of 14. After performing around the UK in various bands in his teens, Steve fully moved into EDM in 1994 as a club DJ. Steve secured weekly residencies in Scotlands elite venues between 1994 and 2000, before being headhunted by Scotlands Club “Cube” and Glasgow FM Radio Station Beat 106 for DJ and Director Of Music residencies in 2001. From 2001-2004 Steve attracted a large following as a result, and thereafter moved into music production. Since 2004 he has toured Europe and the USA as a DJ, and also promoted/played some of the worlds biggest clubs & festival main stages including Eden Ibiza, Miami WMC, Nature One Festival & many more. Steve joined forces with Chris Breame in 2005 to create the hugely popular Trance duo A/B Project. The guys lay claim to some big releases, earning awards for their music along the way, including being the first Trance artists to win BBC Radio One’s “One For The Weekend” with “Misconceptions”.

Steve owns the SAME Recordings, SAME Progressive & DJSA Records record labels, which are a base for some fantastic artists including A/B Project, Daniel Kandi, Sunny Lax, BRM, Dave Walker, Steve Anderson, Sequentia and more. The show is presently one of the flagship weekly 2-hour shows on the Digitally Imported Radio Trance Channel.

Dimitri:Can you mention your biggest achievements in your music career in 2014 as dj & producer, label owner, radio host and your personal life if it is something that you wish to share with our readers?

Steve Anderson: The biggest achievement in my music career for 2014 was finally releasing my double artist album “Steve Anderson - From A/ To /B”. This is a collection of my 10 years as a producer so far, 20 as a DJ, and 40 years on this planet being involved in music! It’s being fantastically received so far around the world, and is even released on Double Gatefold Vinyl as well as Double CD. My “SAME Radio Show” also boasts the fastest growing listenership on the DI Radio Trance Channel every week now, and as for my personal life – I designed, built and opened my own SAME Studios for 2014, a dream also finally realized in full.

Dimitri: 2014 was packed with releases from so many different styles, which Electronic Music style you believe is the absolute Electronic Music Style Of 2014 in the mainstream indifferent if you like it or not. Why you believe this style became so successful in 2014?

Steve Anderson: I don’t know what the style is really called, but the tracks that the likes of Martin Garrix put out are everywhere now, and filling commercial clubs around the world. It’s not necessarily my style or taste, but I can see why it’s so accessible to the new crowds, and I have no problem with it. It doesn’t have the level of emotion or feeling in it that I love with the style of Trance and Progressive I make or play, but it works on the dancefloors, and its simplicity makes peoples ears tune in easily.
