REVIEW: Jason Ross - Elements incl Sunny Lax remix on Anjunabeats

Fast becoming Above & Beyond's breakout star of 2014 thanks to his productions regular appearances in their sets, Jason Ross looks set to follow in the footsteps of Mat Zo, Arty and ilan Bluestone as an Anjunabeats label star. Having impressed with his powerful rework of Parker & Hanson's "Gravity", Jason becomes a fully fledged Anjunabeats family member with the striking "Elements".

Debuted during Above & Beyond's ABGT100 set live from Madison Square Garden, "Elements" is a bold opening statement from the west coast native. With an unexpected triplet groove, thunderous bassline and ethereal breakdown, "Elements" blends classic Anjuna hooks with a punchy big-room climax.

Getting an immediate thumbs up from the A&R team, the resurgent Sunny Lax turns in one of the finest remixes on Anjuna this year. Adding waves of melody on top of the already formidable groove, Sunny builds to an intense uplifting release, the perfect antagonist to the darker club original.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunabeats was and still is one of the most forward thinking record labels with open minded policy and always with music that stands out and is not placed within pigeonholes easily. Jason Ross is one of those artists that is impress us with his hybrid creations that move in and out of trance and progressive house with great ease. His latest track Elements is a magnificent club banger that combines the roughness and ruthlessness of festival house with tough tribal drums and punchy basslines with the ethereal blissful trance breakdown with magical ethnic style heavenly voices, emotional sweet melodies and airy pads followed by pumping and banging mainstage style drop that is dark, moody, creepy and hits you right in your stomach. On the remix duties is the Hungarian Sunny Lax who continues to build up his career and he remains an appreciated member of the worldwide #TranceFamily. For this remix he adopts his progressive trance outfit and he does magic with longer emotional breakdown with heavenly exotic voices, sensitive piano chords and dark techy crunchy drop that resembles the original. For his second breakdown he allows all the elements to shine and his climax is full on euphoric hands in the air with hair raising synths and powerful foundation of driving grooves and pulsating basslines that will make thousands of festival goers dance. Two superb versions that proves the longevity and continuous evolution of trance music towards a better and richer in influences results. #PureGold Love IT
