REVIEW: Eddie Bitar - Follow Me / Liberty out on VANDIT records

01: Follow Me (Original Mix)
02: Liberty (Original Mix)

Eddie Bitar has had a ‘singularly’ eventful time of late! ‘Metal Mouth’ & ‘Meloque’ opened his 2014 case-file before, mid-summer, Christina Novelli lent her vocal kiss to the July release of ‘Start Again’. He’s also been on hand to club-up SHato & Paul Rockseek’s ‘Chasing Aeroplanes’ and mere weeks after ‘Chemical Spill’s download store clean up, the Beirut/London shuttling tunesmith’s been at it again.

In even better news yet, his latest outing - through the ever-reliable VANDIT Records - comes in not one but two floor-dicing variants. With ‘Follow Me’ & ‘Liberty’, the studio-soul doubles down and from up his sleeve conjures another pair of aces.

All drum dominion, ‘Follow Me’ beats a whip-quick path to club floors. Hearty kicks, nagging-ly catchy sub-melodies and visceral lines of 303 energy all race through its production arteries. Further in, siren-call harmonies (ones that’ll goose a bump or hundred!) and its “Follow Me” vocal have Eddie putting the squeeze on the drop. Extracting exquisite levels of tension come its apex, he unleashes them all in a final seismic rush.

It’s leaner, meaner studio cousin, ‘Liberty’ shares degrees of ‘Follow Me’s digital DNA… Plenty of audible squelch, breathily echoed female FX and acidic frisson - its snare-rolling thrills set the track on the rise. Break-side, through elegant piano notes, and latterly round-housing break-beats & stabby, hardboiled tech-trance lines, he delivers its neuron-bombing conclusion.

Nobody builds ‘em bigger & better than Bitar! ‘Follow Me’ and ‘Liberty’ arrive in download stores today.

Dimitri Kechagias review: VANDIT records  deliver stunning productions from the hottest trance producers at the moment representing well, the wide variety and diversity of what we can consider as trance music nowadays. The top trance label presents the return of the dynamic Eddie Bitar who service for this particular release 2 exceptional uplifting trance anthems of the highest quality. First of all is the magnificent Follow Me that combines elements of rough and furious aggressive tech trance with uplifting euphoric trance plus some psy trance influences too. Punchy in your face groove merged with banging sharp basslines, chopped vocal samples, ethereal voices and stunning long breakdown with cinematic details and fantastic main synthy hook that will recall trance of the early 2000 with memorable melody that crawls under your skin and raise the hair from your back.  His build up raises the tension and the euphoric feel good hands in the air climax delivers the long awaited pay off moment that you say that was all worth it. Hard underground trancer that will be appreciated from pure trance fanatics. Liberty on the other hand continues on the same uncompromising direction with rebellious tendencies. He starts tough and rocking but soon he moves on his tech trance meets psy style that is playful and keeps the energy levels to the maximum. His section just before the breakdown with that siren like synthy hook energise the proceedings while the breakdown starts very melodic and dreamy but soon the breakbeat sequence is introduced underneath and manage successfully to build up intensity and anticipation for his climax. On this track he moves on his tech trance alter ego and delivers hard hitting drums, pounding basslines, acid overtones, chopped vocal samples and plenty of stamina to keep adrenaline to the limit! #PureGold Love It
