REVIEW: Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston - We're All We Need incl remixes on Anjunabeats

Above & Beyond reunite with revered songstress Zoë Johnston for the title track from their highly anticipated, forthcoming third artist album, "We're All We Need".

Debuted by Pete Tong the night before Above & Beyond's historic show at New York's Madison Square Garden, "We're All We Need" perfectly highlights the classy, emotive brand of electronic music that Above & Beyond are loved for. An instant favourite among the fan base, which turned out in droves for the video premier in Times Square bringing the Big Apple to a brief standstill, "We're All We Need" has gone on to find support from Radio 1's Danny Howard and playlisted on Sirius XM.

Having opened Above & Beyond's set at The Garden, the extended mix has a suitably anthemic feel that loses none of the intimacy of the shorter edit. Submerging things into the world of Anjunadeep, 16 Bit Lolitas take a dubbier direction, the organ lead and Balearic backing providing the ideal laidback alternative. A regular feature on DJ Frictions's Shogun Audio and Goldie's Metalheadz, London duo SpectraSoul weave Zoë's haunting vocal through the gritty bass groove for a dark and twisted d&b rework.

A fan favourite on Group Therapy Radio for his refined remixes, Italian sensation Spada joins the Anjunabeats family with his deep progressive rework.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The beloved Above and Beyond seems that they are growing their fanbase day after day with excellent live shows and most importantly great music cause at the end of the day even if you make the most flashy latest new technology packed shows, it all comes on what you are capable to produce and if that great track translates to great emotional reactions from the crowd. Above and Beyond after so many years they are still connected with their community and are able to push the right button in our hearts. The first single from their forthcoming album shows a tendency of them to move in new territories but by being strongly rooted on their emotional roots. We're All We Need is a wonderful epic smasher that slowly grows on you without being the instant winner and that makes it even more magical for me. At the beginning when you listen to it you are a bit sceptical but after letting yourself to drift into it you can feel its great strengths. Chunky housey grooves, pulsating basslines and of course very deep emotional strings, heartfelt piano chords and the beloved singer  Zoë Johnston shinning with her bitter sweet performance by being at the forefront of this emotional adventure. The full on euphoric synthy stabs are present as well to uplift your spirit and get the big crowd in the festivals jumping and smiling around. Definitely a great signpost single of an album that will be greatly anticipated and will top the itunes dance chart. The remix package is the finest that you can think of. First of all the always outstanding 16bit Lolitas transform the original into a deep moody haunting journey of bubbly basslines, tribal beats and cinematic strings while the distorted slightly vocal parts stay at the background to mesmerise the crowd. The industrial infused dark synths in the breakdown enhance the mysterious atmosphere and keep that cold winter night in Amsterdam feeling in our hearts riding our bicycles around the beautiful canals. Last but not least SpectraSoul does their best to turn the track into an energetic very danceable fresh and enigmatic drumnbass anthem that will move you in magical places and urban spaces along with the kids on their skateboards. Superb electronic influences, playful atmosphere moving in and out of the more dark places to shinny ones will keep the growing drum n bass fanbase smiling! Last but least remix that has been added on this wonderful package is the Spada remix. The exceptional deep house star transform the original into a melodic dreamy deep electronic house version with luscious atmosphere, electronic synths, deep haunting basslines and rubbling pulsating drums that keep the dancefloor moving and shaking. The breakdown is outstanding with classical strings and piano melody that crawls under your skin. While his previous remixes were more mainstream oriented in this remix he showcases his ability to go deeper underground and come up with high class delicate sensation that brings quality into the house arena. Zoe's voice sounds perfect within Spada soundsphere and I would suggest him to arrange to record together a nice track that definitely will become hit! This remix package covers all the tastes and sizes that are currently popular. #PureClass #PureGold Love It
