We can only imagine the daunting task of remixing Simon Patterson’s ‘Dissolve’.
Opening those files must have been both intimidating and exhilarating. The original is so phenomenal that topping it would be almost impossible.
Enter Freedom Fighters. The man came, he saw, he conquered. And this highly energetic, classic, resonant 303 filter remix is not only worthy of the original, it’s also going to bring the original to brand new audiences around the globe.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Who doesn't remember the exceptional vocal trance anthem Dissolve by the master of trance Simon Patterson featuring the heavenly Sarah Howells vocals? The original version was a great attempt to bring to a more mainstream trance audience psy trance music and the result was a track that can stand on melodic trance and open minded psy trance sets. On the beloved label Who's Afraid Of 138?! the mysterious project Freedom Fighters update the original version and the result is mouthwatering. It remains on the same neo psy trance style with tech trance and uplifting trance influences as well. Minimal psy tech kick along with classic psy trance bassline drives the track forward while on top Sarah Howells vocals are added. Short breakdown and after a cool rewind like effect starts the next sequence where upon the foundation acid layers are added as well that drive the track to the magical breakdown. Piano chords and cinematic strings support Sarah's outstanding performance followed by huge blast of euphoric synths that lead us on the uplifting and very euphoric little sequence. Then another build up comes that take us on board for the dark and moody acid packed climax. The result is definitely attempts to talk to a different language by merging and rearranging trance substyles in order to come up with a highly adventurous risky attractive version that will do damage on the forthcoming trance events! Love IT
