Mysterious members of the Anjunabeats family, Parker & Hanson have been responsible for some of the most intricate and beautiful releases since their debut on the label in 2010 with "Alquimia". Emerging from a two year silence, "Gravity" is their most elegant composition to date; a stripped back piano piece that draws modern classical comparisons.
The duo's deepest original, "Gravity" is a raw, spine-tingling instrumental. Growing from a singular piano motif, Parker & Hanson keep things dark with a concise arrangement that allows the memorable lead to shine through.
Making his label debut in resounding fashion with a tasteful big room rework is US producer Jason Ross. Having caught the ear of Above & Beyond with a series of club ready singles, Jason brings his trademark reverberating groove and fizzing percussive layers for a more uplifting mix. Debuted to 10, 000 people on the White Isle as part of Above & Beyond's Radio 1 Ibiza set, this is a taste of exciting things to come from the latest member of the Anjunabeats family.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Anjunabeats presents the high class and truly eclectic masterpiece of deep progressive trance Gravity by Parker & Hanson that is already one of the most beloved pieces from the Anjunabeats vol. 11 compilation. The track stands out from the rest as it contains simple but very infectious elements. It starts with deep tribal kicks, bubbly haunting basslines, cool percussive elements and very soon at the first breakdown reveals the hair raising piano melody that is so relaxing and smooth that calms you but at the same time keep you alerted. The kick strikes back and the track continues with the magnificent piano melody on top that drives the proceedings and invite us to escape in the magical sound spheres that this mysterious duo deliver with so much attention and care. The result is an 8 minutes masterpiece that can be used as an intro or outro in your dj set and create the perfect cinematic melancholic moody atmosphere that remind us images of the autumn coming with yellow leaves falling from the trees and endless rain falls. Jason Ross is on the mission to transform the original into a peak time mainstage smasher. Pounding banging kicks, pumping pulsating basslines and excellent breakdown where the piano melody is full revealed and loaded to bring endless waves of goosebumps. He then adds euphoric synths that lead the track to its epic hands in the air section. Here the piano melody recreated in anthemic direction that particularly mainstage crowds will appreciate dearly. In a world of generic progressive & electro house fast food style tracks this great remix proves that even on this genre there is always some space for creativity and originality except bad language and easy to digest themes. Lets hope more progressivehouse labels to follow Anjunabeats example and elevate the level of progressive house with focus on great melodic themes and arrangement techniques and not cheap tricks! To conclude with, I feel that this track needs some uplifting trance remakes and I nominate Cold Blue to do it! #PureGold Love it
