INTERVIEW: Video interview with Jorn van Deynhoven at Tomorrowland 2014

Tomorrowland 2014 is the 10 years anniversary of the biggest and the best electronic dance music event in the world at the moment. Tomorrowland sets the standards that the rest are obliged to follow if they wish to compete in equal terms with the festival that like Tsunami wins more and more friends and supporters worldwide. The expansion of the festival in USA as Tomorrowworld and the first ever Tomorrowland Brazil edition in 2015 are testaments of the great growth, success and big respect that the festival gets not only from the festival goers but also from the artists who talk very positively about how everything is organised in its smallest detail in order to give to everybody that participates a nice pleasurable and carefree as possible experience.

Two magical weekends and one of the artists who had the opportunity to perform on both of them was Jorn Van Deynhoven. The extremely gifted producer and dj produces successful releases and unforgettable tracks rocked the Trance Addict stage with his top selections and his very personal dj style as well. I manage to catch up with Jorn at the backstage of Tomorrowland festival and request an interview that I'm happy that was filmed and now you enjoy as well. First of all I ask Jorn about his wishes for the 10 years Tomorrowland celebrations and his opinion about this global phenomenon. Next we asked about the contest that he took part and won with his track New Horizons that become the official anthem for the ASOT650 events. We talk about is insistence to produce the "Pure Trance" sound with nice breakdown and euphoric riffs. He explains why he decided to produce not only uplifting but also club trance tracks on that 132-135 BPM style that seems to be very popular in contrast with uplifting trance style. He presents his current track Lazy Sundays with Vitodito and explains how was produced and he tells that he is interested to carry on produce that progressive sound as well.

Next question is about the time he spends in his studio and he confesses that he adores to continuously learn about music productions and how he can add new ideas in his tracks. He tells his honest opinion about vocal trance tracks that 80% of them according to Jorn are not high standards. He speaks about his two remixes for the massive hit  Black Hole by Craig Connelly & Christina Novelli and for Armin van Buuren's Love Never Came featuring Richard Bedford. He is currently working on the follow up of New Horizons and he reveals that he produces tracks for other producers or djs as well. Of course I ask him if he believe that the German trance scene will ever come back and he pays his tribute to the legend of Frankfurt trance sound Talla 2XLC. Last question is about his forthcoming gigs and he give us his really nice message to all his fans as well. Jorn is not only a great dj and producer but also very pleasant as an interviewee.
