REVIEW: Relaunch - Camis Minor Ep out on Bonzai Progressive

Relaunch delivers another of his stunning packs with his 'Camis Minor EP' which comprises four tough edged progressive monsters. Maik's productions are top class and he has seen much support across Joof and Bonzai in recent months along with other works for various outfits.

First up we have the title track 'Camis Minor', right from the off we are thrust into a driving progressive groove with punchy kicks and a pulsating bass that provides the power behind the track. Tight drum and percussion patterns give off a steady rhythmic flow as the sounds gather pace around the track. Perfectly tweaked stabby synths lead us to the break where a beautiful lush pad takes over before crashing back into full on mode. Top notch stuff yet again from Relaunch. '

Cygnus' packs a huge punch as it delves right into a full on progressive stomper from the get go. Chunky kicks are accompanied by crispy hats providing a smooth rhythm and laced with bubbly basses that seem to just materialise from nowhere. We get a sense of Relaunch's Psy roots as the synth line along with that powerful bassline will attest. Perfectly placed acid squelches add tough character to the sound while on the break we are taken on a sublime ride as the synths and pads take hold. Progressive, edgy house that will do well on many floors for sure.

'Despina' intros with a monster kick and sharp hat combo with a contrasting melodic synth bringing up the rear. A strong plucky bassline throbs throughout and gives the track a purely progressive vibe. Synth patterns form up nicely and take us up to the break where the bass is joined by cool arps and lush pads creating intricate melodies for us to enjoy. The track eases back into the groove for a fantastic journey through prog house at its best!

Lastly we have 'Rhea' which intros with a beautifully crafted sequence of bass pulses, FX and pads. A big and ballsy kick adds weight to the intro and the track soon settles in for an epic ride as melodic synth patterns begin to rise. The break unleashes a wave of euphoria as we are taken into a brilliantly crafted build up that will have the hairs on your body rise. Superb track and one that will gain a lot of attention, no doubt!
