With ‘Endless Forever’, ‘Welcome Home’ and year kiss-off ‘Promise’, 2013 saw Airscape deliver a flawless run of uplifting sun-seeking trance. Acting as the precursor to a new Airscape LP, the Dutch outfit drew fan delight and press applause (“a track that fills every square inch of the biggest room!” proclaimed MIXMAG on ‘Endless Forever’ – “Tune of the Month”) in equal measures.
Now, with the epic entrancement of ‘Manami’s Theme’, production masterminds Johan Gielen and Virtual Vault are back. With the bit firmly between their teeth, they’re ready to do even more floor damage in 2014 than they did in 2013!
With more than a hint of the Orient in both its title and sonics, ‘Manami’s Theme’ sets up with battle-ready drums, rolling, Richter-scale-registering bass and echoing sub-riffs. With its air strung melodies generating atmosphere and altitude, Johan & Ben use all the pads, chords, phase and delay at their disposal to build ‘Manami’s Theme’ up to its final super-string-driven conclusion.
A ‘summer’s coming’ track, if ever there was one – ‘Manami’s Theme’ arrives in download stores on May 5th.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Airscape is one of the most beloved trance projects of all time with Johan Gielen one of the true trance legends be the mastermind behind it along with Virtual Vault that we hope to see him back soon in full force with epic trancers. The latest Airscape track perfectly released before the summer is the magnificent Manami Theme. It's beautiful straight forward progressive trancer with chunky groove, energetic punchy driving basslines and mesmerising blissful melodies. The breakdown starts in true orchestral classical music style but soon the typical Airscape pizzicato like synthy riffs are introduced to bring shivers and waves of euphoria on any older or younger trance fanatic. The climax is full on and hands in the air straight forward trancer that carry your heart, mind and soul on board for a magnificent colourful journey that actually tastes like Spring Sparkling water. Refreshing, clean and clear Pure Trance sound as it was and as it should be! I wish to be a little bit longer to enjoy more and more but I guess that is the reason behind the invention of the repeat button! Balearic and ready made for hot Ibiza nights. #PureGold Love iT
