REVIEW: Ryan Blair - Tek Drum (Remixed by Amir Hussain) out on Monster Force

It’s a case of nu-skool remixing the old-skool, as we enlist Amir Hussain to work his magic on a past monster tune by Ryan Blair. Originally released on Monster Tunes in 2006 as part of the ‘Monster Sampler Series 009‘, ‘Tek Drum’ was a rather understated track and with the re-launch of Monster Force we thought it deserved un-archiving and given a dust off by one of the scene’s most exiting producers.

Having already had a past success on MT with the ASOT supported ‘Catharsis’, we knew full well what to expect from an Amir Hussain production and upon hearing Amir’s remix of ‘First Taste’ by Curtis & Craig, we knew he was the man to take on such a unique track.

Amir’s remix of ‘Tek Drum’ is a punchy affair, mixing shades of uplifting and tech trance into a full on aural assault. The main hook from the original track was perfect for Amir’s energetic yet euphoric style and this is no more apparent than in the breakdown, where serene main melodies are closely followed by a mega electro styled tough as nails drop!

Tek-no prisoners!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Monster Force continues to offer us energetic trips in the dark side with the latest fantastic remix by Amir Hussain on Ryan Blair's seminal anthem Tek Drum that was supported by Paul van Dyk and it seems more than possible that this remix will be supported as well from the German trance god. Tek Drum is remixed brilliantly by Amir who slowly builds his very good reputation and is on his way for big things in the future. Tough drums that crank your sound system, energetic powerful punchy basslines and fantastic melodic themes that beautifully lead us on the breakdown that is teasing and pleasing particularly for those who search  for outstanding atmosphere and stunning sounddesign. It feels actually like inhabiting a three-dimensional space and you are in the middle of it and you are totally surrounded from luscious melodies, heavenly female voices and the marching drum rolls that lead us nice and fast on the very powerful climax. This is what I call real trance banger as Amir goes for a bass focused tech infused  sequence that is followed by the final euphoric hands in the air sequence that is floating and uprising without being too much and in your face. Uplifting Pure Hard Trancer at its best! #PureGold Love It
