Early last year the electronic and house scene had great expectations for the Swedish DJ Avicii. The charismatic 24 -year-old took on the challenge and surpassed even the wildest hopes. 2013 was simply his year : The life-affirming anthem " Wake Me Up" accompanied us over the summer , sold 760,000 times , was five times awarded gold made it ten weeks on the throne of the charts easily. The sequence number "Hey Brother" garnered a platinum. The associated and critically acclaimed album " True" is now gold plated. One might think that the new year would be a good time to take a breath and enjoy the success. But that is for Avicii in question. And it follows logically and fortunately with "Addicted To You" the next single .
In order not to repeat and to be artistically challenged again and again , Avicii works together with different artists as possible . "I try to get people who are a little outside the usual spectrum , which are able to add something new. " For " Addicted To You" he heard himself into the folk scene and succumbed to the fascinating voice of renowned singer - / songwriter Audra Mae . And it is this picturesque and at the same expressive singing in perfect harmony with Aviciis beats and playful guitar. The number offers a lot of female soul and sexiness. Quiet and serene, the song comes first , therefore, before "Addicted To You" picks up in inimitable Avicii - style ride and will be missed very soon in any club night more. The song focuses on a very unglamorous way , yet impressively the attraction of the other person and thus the strongest of all forces :
"Like a powerful drug /
I can not get enough of /
Lost In Your Eyes /
Drowning in blue outta control /
What can I do ?
I'm addicted to you " .
It is hard to imagine that anyone will not succumb to the charm of Avicii and Audra Mae . So eventful and exciting 2013 for Avicii was, he `s determined to beat it . With "Addicted To You" it starts accordingly furiously into the new year and it can be assumed that his plan will succeed him again .
Dimitri Kechagias review: The Swedish House scene continues to amaze the world and keep us at the edge of our seat looking forward for whatever new is coming out. The amazing AVICII proves to be one of the best djs and of course best producer too. I will never forget his incredible set at Tomorrowland 2013 in Belgium. I was super impressed from his selection of music that was obviously not only his current hits. His dj set was rich and varied with music experiences and so many surprises that you simply felt lifted all the way through it. His album True was one of the freshest sounding EDM albums we got last year as he dared to be different, he dared to be challenged. His new single Addicted To You with the awesome singer Audra Mae is absolutely lovable track that the song comes first and the music stays for a while at the backstage. Audra Mae performs the lyrics in a such expressive retro way that is very hard not to feel her emotional depth and identify with her story. Love is an emotion that everybody has the chance to experience once at least in his/her life and that track simply tells it like it is. Addiction to your loved one is creative as you feel inspired and full of life but that addiction can be also disastrous and counterproductive. Audra Mae deserves to release her own personal album cause simply her voice is like a diamond that shines in the skies. The track itself contains the cinematic atmosphere that transfer us straight away to another romantic era that you could do anything for your loved one. You were ready to sacrifice and bleed for the sake of love of course. The country style guitar is combined with the nice beats and funky basslines that keeps the track condensed and very pleasurable for the ear. Addicted To You is going to be your excuse for a break when you hear it on the radio during your workload. The French star David Guetta provides the remix and he does his best to bounce you hard on the dancefloor! As the track has similarities with his current smash Shot Me Down he sounds to be the most appropriate to remix it. Powerful banging beats, hard heavy basslines, and melodic breakdown that allows the vocal to shine. The drop is ultra heavy and hardstyle influences are more than evident. If you play mainstage festival sounds this remix is right for your taste. The package now includes even more remixes to choose the most appropriate for your dj set. Avicii by Avicii remix is a wonderful melodic blissful and energetic prog house version with balearic Ibiza touch to it. Really relaxing production that you can dream and dance a long particularly on the very euphoric drops. You will love the deep basslines, the chord progression, the excellent application of the melancholic piano melody and the heartbreaking vocal as well. Its appropriate version for the progressive trance sets as well. Albin Meyers from Sweden rocks with his really creative alternative touch. Superb percussion and drum programming, fat basslines and excellent trancy synthy lead in the first breakdown that replaces the piano melody of the original and really adds that big room festival atmosphere to it. The drop is ultra rough with distorted rocking basslines that will cut like a knife if you are not careful enough. Excellent 2nd breakdown with little piano parts and break beats as well. Mindblowing version without doubts. Bent Collective from USA service a totally different sounding track that has the balearic prog house feel to it with influences from the early 90s and classic USA tribal house fusions as well. Its the optimistic, groovy, colourful and shinning version to light up your dancefloor. Sick Individuals never disappoint and there are force that you can easily trust for your enjoyment. Their remix has the banging festival house sound that will do great in the mainstage performances this summer. Energetic, driving, intense, banging and booming version with huge euphoric synthy leads in the breakdown and stunning roofraising climax to splash all over the place. Really sparkling and refreshing version from the young Dutch talents. Last but not least the superb Ashley Wallbridge unleash his gun and shoots on the dancefloor his incredible makeover that has the funtastic factor really high. Pumping thumping beats, punchy electro kissed basslines and breakdown with melancholic chords and piano melody that is quite different from the original. His climax does the best to raise the fever on the clubfloor and smash your soundsystems. Lethal weapon guaranteed. One thing is for sure, 2014 we will continue to be Addicted To Avicii! #PureGold Love IT
