No prizes for guessing that there’s two different vibes on offer with this EP. ‘The Light’ gets it deep bass rumble on good and early, building out that track with atmospherically delayed piano chime, rolling waves of side-chain compression and a lovely echoing female vocal harmonic. ‘The Shade’ is tougher, more blustery and heavier handed on the pitch-wheel. Decent enough of its kind, but ‘The Light’s the big prize here.
