REVIEW: Simion - Lost & Dont U EP incl Chi Thanh Remix out on OFF recordings

Time for another huge discovery by the dedicated team of underground boogie hunters here at OFF, we now bring you the mysterious Simion, a man who made an impact by recently remixing Ben Pearce's hit "What I Might Do" with great chart success and who sent us an impressive pair of dancefloor agitators which we just couldnt resist!

It all begins with "Lost", and its all about the groove in this one, the percussive heavy drum rhythm builds up hypnotically with a massive funk bass and string stabs that do the work... This is one of those tracks that takes the party to a completely superior level of happiness.

On the flipside, Simion gets his 909 swing pants on and delivers what could only be described as a future house anthem, "Dont U" has a killer bass and diva vocals topped by a house piano lick making it absolutely irresistible.

The thing doesnt stop there, we bring our wonder boy Chi Thanh to rework it and he incoporates his organic vibe to the vocals, bringing on guitars and a new bubbly bassline to turn the track into a completely different version. A very dancefloor oriented release with ingredients for all tastes, enjoy!

Dimitri Kechagias review: The beloved record label from Berlin strikes back. Off recordings presents the upcoming artist Simion and I must confess Im very impressed from his outstanding compositions. First is the very melodic and absolutely mesmerising Lost. Deep tech house vibes with percussion to die for, stunning guitar samples and strings that recall well known alternative rock group from the 80's. Its deep, funky, dreamy and one that will catch the attention straight away. Its like a Lullaby on your dancefloor. Dont You is a superb old school meets modern dancefloor with well known diva house style vocals from the past combined with deep funky sexy basslines, chunky grooves to make you jack your body along and enjoy yourself. Chi Thanh is on board and he proves once again that he is the one to watch. He transforms the track into his own deep spacious sparkling very danceable version with rock guitars that appear suddenly out of now where to inspire and bring mayhem on the dancefloor! Highly recommended and must play or quit your djing job. Love IT
