REVIEW: Peter Hulsmans - The Unknown / Daybreaker out on Kill The Lights

Peter Hulsmans is back with a two tracker that once again hits the dance floor squarely between the eyes whilst simultaneously showcasing his superb production talents.

The Unknown is a haunting psy influenced bass driven groover that builds and builds whilst giving a sonic masterclass in the less is more concept.

Daybreaker takes things down the progressive trance road building towards lush melodies and ethereal pads. If there is such a genre as dream trance then Peter sits right at the forefront of it. If the genre doesnt yet exist then he is every reason why it should.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Kill The Lights is a surprising record label that you dont know what exactly to expect because of its very openminded policy. It includes wide variety of what we term as trance. The latest release by Peter Hulsmans is moving within the progressive meets  psy trance domains without being something for definite. The sure thing is that Peter goes to the deepest sides of his creative mind and in his tunnel of thoughts brings out the most dark and uncompromising sounds. The Unknown is a powerful driving psy prog trancer with dark and mysterious themes, old school trancy melodies taking us back to the early progressive house era and great percussion and rhythm that keep us dancing all night long. It's progression is definitely uplifting and the euphoria is slowly build up the heat and the hi-nrg levels. Daybreaker is the lighter more summery balearic progressive trancer of the two. Its really sweet and dreamy production with very nice positive synths and optimistic melodies that easily can attract your attention and carry your soul away for a while. Top EP with inspired and inspiring trance gems, Love iT
