REVIEW: Markus Schulz Presents: Coldharbour Selections Part 33 on Coldharbour rec.

It continues to be one of the sparkling features of Coldharbour Recordings, and label boss Markus Schulz presents a Buenos Aires '13 themed portion of content with the 33rd Coldharbour Selections - with all three tracks taken from his recently released city compilation.

Miami duo Grube & Hovsepian can boast an impressive 2013, with an ever increasing gig portfolio and their full on smash Trickster racking plenty of mileage on Beatport's Trance Top 10. Tim and Mike demonstrate their diversity with the beautiful Palermo - a deeper, melodic encounter which many claim to be one of the standout highlights of Buenos Aires '13.

Making their Coldharbour debut are duo Cristopher Vassilakis and Simon Tarr (the latter also known for his work as Arcalis). Both have playlisted regularly on Global DJ Broadcast throughout the year, either collectively or as individuals, and Galea sees their talents harnessed to an appealing effect.

Also making his label debut is Canadian Elias Barouche, better known as Solid Stone. Again a producer noted for his diversity, he turns up the adrenaline meter with Scrambled, with one of those melodies that you'll be stomping along to in no time. Definitely one that will pick up pace on the dancefloor.

New talents with styles spread across the trance spectrum, Coldharbour Selections Part 33 is an essential pick for the fall season.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most influential star djs of all times is Markus Schultz without doubts. The German born and Miami based dj, producer, label owner and successful radio host with his constant support  to new talents and  relentless innovation to trance sounds has changed for good what we termed as trance. His great sound goes deeper darker haunting but very melodic and hypnotic as we like it to be. His awesome new compilation dedicated to the exotic for us Buenos Aires illustrates his incredible ability to find new producers and give them the big exposure they deserve and slowly build their fan base. Miami duo Grube & Hovsepian open the legendary series Coldharbour Selections Part 33 with their dreamy proggy trance beauty Palermo. Their mature deep trance sound will attract your attention straight away. They manage so beautifully to build upon their deep basslines and bubbly beats hair raising little synths and dramatic sounds that lead on the balearic trance breakdown that shines with the melancholic piano melody that recall warm sunny holidays. Their climax is full on and hands in the air with the excellent cinematic melodic theme that easily carry your spirit away. Solid Stone is very productive with fantastic releases on various labels. His Scrambled anthem is a powerful proglifing trancer that keeps the proceedings deep and haunting but with tougher driving energetic basslines and increased intensity levels. His climax is hands in the air with heavy bass attack and massive hair raising synths performing epic orchestral style theme that unites the crowd to jump together up and down. The Greek producer Cristopher Vassilakis and Simon Tarr provide to the compilation their common track Galea. As you can imagine the track is very deep, dark with psy trance influences as well. This is the more tech focused variation of the Coldharbour sound with incredible synths that remind us Jean Michel Jarr & Vangelis heavy influence and dark gothic even industrial music intentions.  3 must have tracks for any Coldharbour Selections follower.
