This is Fabio’s 4th release on Molecule, previously he has shown the varied nature of his productions and this is no exception. First up is ‘Keep The Lights Off’; with an 80’s flavor to the triplet timing and raw-sounding analogue synth lines this is something very interesting on the Italo Disco tip. A distorted sine-wave lead introduces the addictive hook which is weaved and morphed to within an inch of its life. The 2nd track ‘In Their Arms’ is something completely different on the deep dark techno tip; a very minor key progression leads the charge and other pensive elements create a heads-down druggy atmosphere. Double Whammy.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Molecule recordings belongs to Solarstone's family of labels and manage to build a loyal following as a result of its constantly high quality releases. The latest one comes from the hands of the Italian Fabio Macor who delivers two contrasting and definitely really attractive and hooky atmospheric deep prog house meets trance tracks. Keep The Lights Off is the very interesting upfront progressive house track. Tough chunky beats, deep basslines and great 80's recalling synthy line running all over it that reminds you groups likes Yazoo or even pioneers like Jan Michel Jarr. In my ears sounds like a tribute to the artists that put the foundations for the amazing growth of EDM music. Quality track that djs from wide variety of genres can adopt easily. In Their Arms is the darker deeper threatening track that djs like Markus Schulz will definitely appreciate. Cinematic well crafted atmosphere that carry away your imagination and take you to different places and spaces. Superb percussion, rave style synths on the background to build the tension and raise the pressure cooker feel of it. After the main breakdown the track progresses into a tougher darker and very danceable dirty nasty piece of dark hypnotic weird progressive house or trance. Recommended. Love IT
