REVIEW: Axwell - Center Of The Universe out on Axtone / WePLAY(Ger) / Columbia Sony(UK)

1-Original mix
2-Remode mix

Just two months after ENDING ONE LAST TOUR WITH SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA Festival back in March, globally celebrated superstar-producer and DJ Axwell is back!

Axwell returns to the fray with the release of his first original production since the success of ‘Heart Is King’ [Axtone] in November last year AND HITS WITH SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA LIKE DON’T YOU WORRY CHILD WHICH REACHED PLATINUM STATUS WORLDWIDE.

Entitled Center Of The Universe (Remode), this much anticipated release is Axwell’s ‘Remode’ version of the unreleased original mix, first debuted by the Swede at Steresonic Festival back in 2009. Eagerly awaited by his fans for over three and a half years, Center Of The Universe (Remode) is true testament to Axwell’s prowess and innovation as a producer and worthy proof (if proof be needed) that he’s still at the very top of his game.

Premiered by Pete Tong on his world famous BBC Radio 1 show earlier this month, this brand new edit – Centre Of The Universe (Remode) – has been gathering considerable love from fans, industry and the online space ever since. Crowned Pete’s ‘Essential New Tune’ just a week after the premiere, and off the back of this  entered the Coolcuts chart at No 4, the record has now gone on to rack-up over 360,000 unique Soundcloud and YouTube plays combined, and has received countless support from fellow DJs and national radio stations across the planet.

Now, and after less than three weeks of waiting since its first play, the melodic juggernaut of a record sees its official release on Axwell’s very own imprint, Axtone Records, and is available to purchase now, exclusively from Beatport.

The original version – which was recently debuted over the airwaves with Sirius XM in North America, Capital FM in the UK and countless national European stations last weekend – is now also being used as the official track for Carlsberg’s ‘Where Is The Party’ campaign. Axwell - Center of the Universe is out on Axtone and WePLAY in Germany & Columbia/Sony in UK.

Dimitri Kechagias review:  Its definitely one of the most anticipating tracks at the moment and it sounds like a major club anthem in summer clubs. With big crossover potential and high possibilities to hit the UK number 1 spot too Center of The Universe by Axwell will become the absolute central track in your dj sets. Currently number 1 at Beatport is the exceptional Remode mix. This is the the fresh banging rework that everybody talks  about in the online social media and if you check it out you can understand why there is so much hype around it. Axwell on this remix  seems decided to move away from the classic Swedish House Mafia sound and he delivers a tribal house balearic version with great piano melodies that play relentlessly and will be impossible to not feel hooked and totally addicted to it. Winning element is of course the brilliant indie rock style male vocal with those thoughtful emotional and very touching lyrics that you will learn by heart if you consider that will be playlisted to play again and again on the dance/top 40 radio stations. The Original mix moves on the classic Epic prog house sound that Axwell and his good friends deliver for so many years. Pumping beats combined with bouncy in your face basslines, strong percussion in the breakdown along with the piano melody that highlight even more the incredible vocal and the climax that is straight forward and hands in the air uplifting and euphoric sonic experience. Words are difficult to encapsulate big anthems like this one that is destined to become a classic. Love IT!
