Purple Stories present their debut for the In Trance We Trust imprint, titled the “Surface Tension EP”.
The polish producer duo Purple Stories made quite an impression in a short bit of time. After their first releases "Close Your Eyes" and "Ithilien" for the Saturate Audio imprint, they were quickly spotted by the big names: the singles "Tramontando", "Cookie Monster" and "Still Drunk" appeared on Ferry Corsten's Flashover Recordings while Armin van Buuren's Armada label featured Purple Stories for the singles “Vinicity" and "Wake Up" by York. Markus Schulz even said: "I'm expecting big things from Purple Stories in 2013, they're on fire." This time it was Black Hole Recordings that secured the guys for a release on the In Trance We Trust sublabel.
With “Surface Tension” and “Mente Dualistica”, Purple Stories seem to bring a true homage to the early, packed to the rim trance events. Or to put it in other words: this is what trance really is. Both tracks stand out with elaborate and lush synth arrangements that bring forth a big, symphonic sound. The spun out breaks with smooth, padded strings transcend into climaxing breaks; superb material for a multiple hour live DJ set.

First of all is Surface Tension and what a banger is that I wonder. Rough smashing beats, raw heavy thick basslines and epic synths slowly boiling and cooking a superb dinner in the breakdown for you. A Huge epic orchestral music theme is revealed on the breakdown to left us speechless wondering what this duo can add more. They spicey it up with hair raising, shivers bringing rave style synthy lead that drives the track towards the oblivion that is its massive hands in the air climax. You can only imagine wide smiles all over the club or festival ground that this rougher bumper will be played in the coming weekends. Second fantastic tune is Mente Dualistica. Well produced in its smallest detail incorporates hard kicks, rough beats, and in your face basslines along with the little sweet electronic style melody in the background adding a happy kindgarden style smile in our faces. The breakdown is impressive, cinematic, inspiring and absolutely cracking particularly when the boys unleash that massive synthy lead that will crawl under your skin and will stuck in your mind for ever. If you like club dreaming that is dancing with closed eyes or club thrashing that is jumping and pumping along with your mates this EP is JUST FOR YOU, Highly recommended. Love iT!
