First State presents the remix package of his new single “Seeing Stars” on the Magik Muzik imprint. Teaming up for the vocals is the lovely Sarah Howells.
"Seeing Stars" was preceded by First State’s two singles “Holding On” (with Max C) and “Why So Serious”, as recorded with the young Boston native Jake Shanahan. This new production, “Seeing Stars”, showcases First State’s ever developing, new sound as the perfect foundation for a solid progressive house track that seems to be tailor made for Sarah Howells. First State has been pretty busy this last couple of months and he recently also released his brand new double mix compilation “The Whole Nine Yards 2: Jakarta - Amsterdam”.
On the new “Seeing Stars”, we hear First State’s take on state of the art, electro house influenced progressive house. The sparkling party atmosphere of the original version has been seriously overhauled by Chris Schweizer, Carl Nunes, Jake Shanahan and Vexare. Adding even more energy to the already uplifting original, the remixes supply every DJ with a version that will fit nicely in their live sets!
Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the finest vocal progressive gems of 2013 is of course the superb Seeing Stars by First State with the characteristic vocals by Sarah Howells. The original was absolutely gorgeous and super danceable track with fantastic melodic and thumping beats. Now the remix package finally arrived and as it seems the remixers did amazing job so watch out for them. Chris Schweizer Remix: It moves in the verge of progressive house and trance and it has that great drive to take you for a wild ride. Sarah voice sounds so mesmerising and lovable. Carl Nunes Remix transforms the original to his own very unique and personal sound that has great epic style melodic breakdown and rough edged climax that applies some Daft Punk touches to it. It sounds more funky, playful with some French disco house twists and with huge epic synthy stabs to excite the big crowds. Jake Shanahan Remix moves on the same Big Room progressive house style with long breakdown that starts with great piano and continues with break beat part. Suddenly epic synths are coming to tease and please and when the beat drops wait to hear some wonky chunky beats, rough and raw hard dance style basslines. The word EDM festival anthem is written all over it! Lastly Vexare Remix is atmospheric cinematic dubstep sound at its very best. More colourful with heavy basslines with some French disco house and electronica music influences as well and definitely not the very distorted sound that you can not easily hear what happens. The package includes the exceptional original mix and cool radio edits. I would love to hear on the package a classic trance First State make over as well. Highly recommended. Love iT!
