Our 9th release on Touchstone Recordings comes from a.k.a. Michael Lee Wadel, a guy with a healthy musical output in 2012 with huge releases on Perfecto Flouro amongst other labels of pedigree.
The 2 track double-header kicks off with ‘Thread Ender’ which displays Magnus’ psy influences whilst also appealing to the main room trance fraternity. Warm key changes underpin a subtle lead line and neat stabbed chord riff, flanged mid-lines provide the grit and the percussion is clean and to-the-point. ‘Radiant Dawn’ is on the flip, this time it’s a slick heads-down bassline which provides the hook and groove in one whilst a cheeky arpeggiator line and pluck-stabbed melody create a question/answer situation which gets right under the skin. The brand new track comes from the hands of Magnus who consistently delivers well crafted productions like his Thread Ender EP. If you like subtle understated melodies without overexciting synths and too many complicated effects and soundlayers then these two trancers will satisfy you fully. Thread Ender belongs to the uplifting trancers that have great deal of influence from psytrance. It is driving, steady, subtle with atmospheric long breakdown. The warm synths, heavenly voices and slow build up of the main melodic synthy theme creates a certain excitement and expectation for the clubbers who will get their pay off moment they expect in its excellent climax that is melodic, euphoric and without getting over the top. Quality production values from start to finish. Radiant Dawn is progressive pure trancer at its finest. Excellent development of the various sound layers upon the driving bassline and the travelling beats that you can not resist for long. The breakdown is deep, dark, atmospheric with some cool drops and the main melodic theme that is fully revealed. The climax is balearic, blissful and vibrating too. Trance in its purest art form.
