VIDEO INTERVIEW with the dj & producer Sied van Riel at Armada Night at ADE 2012

Amsterdam Dance Event [ADE] is considered to be a milestone in the history of the EDM industry. It's without doubt the most important platform to meet other like-minded individuals, plan forthcoming releases, events, collaborations with other artists, even to find sponsors for your club event or festival. Oh, and did we mention at night to party together and enjoy whatever kind of EDM style you like! During day and night ADE offers you opportunities to expand your mind and widen your knowledge about the latest trends and developments in the EDM industry. The latest rise of the scene in the USA is definitely a very hopeful development, as the country which is considered to be more rock based, seems at last to start appreciating the power and strength of EDM, as more pop artists incorporate EDM elements in their tracks. If you are involved in one way or another with EDM, the best place in Europe to keep yourself updated is ADE. Here there are many different opportunities to learn, discuss, and be at the heart of the EDM progress.

On Friday 19th of October all roads were leading to Passenger Terminal Amsterdam, for the very promising event ‘ALDA presents Armada Night’. The headliner of the sold-out event was the superstar DJ/producer and radio host; Armin van Buuren. He was scheduled to play quite early as he had to attend the  massive Top 100 DJ’s party, were he was crowned number one DJ in the world for an impressive fifth time. The other great DJ’s who appeared on that night were Tenishia, W&W, Max Graham, Aly & Fila, John O'Callaghan, Tom Fall and Sied Van Riel. The event was spectacular to say the least; with the best lighting and laser effects that my eyes had ever witnessed, with a loud and crystal clear sound system. Armada Night was an event that you will remember for ever. Great atmosphere, with party people from all ages and gender – all enjoying life on a night that was packed with trance in its various shapes and colours. I was glad to be in the backstage area of the Armada Night at ADE, and able to conduct some great interviews that I hope are entertaining and informative.

First interview was with the Dutch superstar Sied van Riel. We met once before at Tomorrowland, where we conducted a very nice interview. Now was my second opportunity to speak with him, and I so excited as I admire his sound and his great skills in producing top tunes and performing amazing DJ sets. At ADE, the previous night Sied performed at the ‘Full on Ferry’ event, and on the Armada Night he was back-to-back with Max Graham, which is definitely a very interesting combination. The interview that you can enjoy here includes questions about his opinion of ADE and this is very positive. He talks about his forthcoming album and vocal trance single at S107/Armada Music. Further, I asked him about his forthcoming remixes for other artists, and which way that he likes to do his collaborations with other artists; by swapping files on the net, or by working together in the studio. He reveals the track that took him the longest to produce, and the one that was quickest to finish. We also discuss his forthcoming mix compilation ‘Realism Vol.2’, which will be released next year on Black Hole recordings.  He explains everything about the samples he uses in his tracks, and he tells us how much he enjoys producing Youtube video tutorials, where young aspiring artists can watch and learn some of his techniques. Sied van Riel loves EDM, and he adores sharing it with anyone who has the same passion as him.Keep the fire burning Sied - you will love him.
